yes nice big russian iron bird! i love them too. i do wonder, did any beagle designs have swept wings and horizontal tails? as they have a swept fin. they must have done some swept wing design studies when they built the thing?
Ilyushin did produce some designs based on the Il-28, all though non entered production. there was a swept wing version called the Il-30, very similar to the Il-28 though with a different U/C. i belive only 1 prototype was produced flying around 1949, it never recived a ASCC name. a larger longer range version was also produced the Il-46 flying in 1952. at the same time Tupolev had flown the amazing Tu-16.. and the rest is history… 🙂
