oops…..looks like ive opened a can of worms here..i didnt reilise its gone all political…oh so shes still in goose bay is she….and there was me thinking she was enjoying a happy retirement here in blighty…so it looks like we wont see a gannet in the air for a while…why is this world so complicated..
i still think the fairy gannet is great though….. 😮
sorry about the last picture…..just wishful thinking 😮
ive just looked on ebay for a tu-128 fiddler didnt get much luck though, it dosent seem a lot do it 14 grand for a fishbed…..he must have a pretty big office 😀
its a pity there are replacing the engines…i always think the current nimrod sounds fantastic….the new ones will probably sound like a airbus….oh well thats progress i suppose….thank guys for the info…what about the R-1 replacment…..
i can remember when i was young..seeing [and hearing] RAF phantoms quite alot..they where fantastic..i can always remember how smokey the engines where..also when the A-10s where based over hear..they used to spend hours playing around here, usually in groups of fours…i never ever seen a lightning though, they just seemed never to come to this part of the country…..i can remember seeing buccaneers from time to time…the best was when one came right over our house..it seemed to be about 20 feet above the roof….memorys memorys…….
exellent….well done to you all. so whats going to happen to her now…
is the bomb bay been left open or has the bomb bay door been removed??.
a bit off subject i know but i had a letter from my work today….it says basically i have to take my birth cert in to prove im british, and i can work in this country!!!!!!!…..WAT……both of my parents are BRITISH, ive lived in BRITON all my life. what has happend to this once GREAT briton. us brits once had the best aircraft industry in the world. them days are long long gone. so lets at least keep some of the memorys of this once great industry alive. lets try and keep a bit of GREAT BRITON…..BRITISH..and if enyone else dosent like it….well you know what to do dont you……
i think at the end of the day [how meny bombs you can carry] dosent matter in time of war..the most important thing is being able to get to the target, drop your bomb [or 20 bombs] and get the aircraft and crew back to base safley. the sukhoi su-7 was always ridiculed by NATO for having a crap weapon load and a limited range…but in the conflicts they where used they proved very succesful, very popular with there pilots and being almost indestructable..in my veiw its piontless having a aircraft bombed up to the hilt if its going to be a sitting duck and shot out of the sky….remember the poor old F-105 in nam….
hurray!!!!!…im so happy someone has started a thread on the old thud..my favorite american aircraft of all time..why cant the yanks make beautiful awesome looking aircraft like them enymore…well done that man…
heres some more pics of the beast…
wow….some fantastic pictures people…that one shot is a be-6 madge isnt it……thats unusual…im suprised we havnt seen eny draken or viggen intercptions yet…i think over the baltic there was a lot of interceptions of soviet aircraft that where other then maritime patrolers….
that is the first ever photo ive seen of a m-4 bison being intercepted…..wow thats amazing…….eny tu-22 blinder interceptions….. 😀
a few more for you……
interception shots with a diffrence……
is there a re-engining planned for the BUFFs left..i have heard the US air force plans to keep them in service for another 20-30 years, there must be some modifications done to them if thats true….
what about some soviet interceptors intercepting NATO aircraft…
although not strictly interceptions….these look good enyway….a sight unthinkable not so long ago…..
have you ever thought of being a comedian…………fantastic….. 😀
