i am always facinated by odd or ugly looking aircraft,
how about the Handley Page Heyford, wierd but wounderful looking, Vickers Wellesley, how odd was that, Dornier Do-335, odd but at the same time awesome looking, the oddist of all the Focke Wulf Fw-189, just plain weird.
Yeah, mostly models used for the crash scenes (either R/C or dropped from the camera-chopper), but a real Heinkel WAS used in the scene where the bomber crew is pulled out of their plane (nearer the end). There was a thread about it over on Historic a while back.
i love that film, the scene in the start of the film when the 109s attack the airfeild at tree top level looks great, also the scene when the German visits the British embassey, fantastic script, music, and scenes. what is the name of the theme tune, after i watch the film i am humming it too myself for days.

i have say well done Southend UTD, for out playing us on tuesday night. i think it does big teams like Chelsea, Liverpool, good to get beaten by a lower division side now and again. apart from a few games Manchester United are on fire at the mo, it is great to see there fast, exciting game play back again. the 2-0 win against Liverpool has been there best so far this season. Rio’s goal was a belter, i nearly dropped my pint when he scored.

was the Mil-6 or Mil-10 used in the Afghan war, if so how many was used and what sort of duties did they carry out. was there eny “command post” Hooks used, was there eny shot down or lost during the conflict.
has enyone eny idea what was “or is” it like to pilot such a huge helicopter, i would think they would be quite demanding to fly.
i cannot belive the F-117 is being retired, but as you say they are 25 years old now.. i suppose they are very limited and expensive to operate, something like the F-22 Raptor would be a more economic type.
how many Hooks and Harkes are still flying today. i would think they might be a few left in Russia or the Ukraine..
i became a dad for the first time 6 weeks ago, i hope your daughter will bring you the same happiness as my son is , he is just starting to smile now, absouloutly fantastic. best wishes too you and your family.. 😉
i would have to go for.
1, Bristol Beaufighter
2, Hawker Tempest
3, Short Stirling
4, Me-110
5, Ju-87
6, Me-163 !!!!!!!.
7, Short Sunderland
8, Handley Page Hampdon
9, Ilyushin Il-4
10, Mitsubishi G4M “Betty”
these are just some of the WW2 types i would love to see flying, the likes of the AW Whitley, Westland Whirlwind, FW-190, Ju-88, He-111, Tu-2, P-61 would rate quite high as well..

i do think since i have been posting on this forum my spelling has improved, most of the time now i do preveiw my posts before i post, and put right some of the mistakes, most of the time it is a typing error.
i think most of us make the occational mistake, some more then others, but it never bothers me. it is good i feel to have some freindly critazisam now and again. i just do not let it get to me. if people want to be out and out rude to me i just dont answer them. so far this has not happand yet..
if Vickers had enough money or the government showed some intrest then maybe, but us brits thought Boeing was the king….. still do….
i agree, sometimes i type and submit replys straight away, Charles Darwin one of the greatest minds that has ever lived couldent spell or use grammer very well, but we owe a lot to him.
i have too admit this forum is fantastic, i enjoy being part of it. most of the time people are very polite and helpful, also it is great to be able to talk to people who have had first hand experience in the world of aviation.
at the end of the day its the members that make a forum good or bad, is it not..
