Dave – I don’t know who “controls” North Head (Defence maybe) but whoever it is would need to be convinced they weren’t searching for a goose (no, not the Grumman kind, more like Melvin’s). A person or persons would have to put together some sort of linear history of the aircraft in question and create a reasonable probability that one of them is there. Without that, it’s an urban legend.

What are you objecting about? I thought you didn’t understand the meaning of the phrase hence my clarification. I was absolutely not pointing the finger at anyone – but Snapper was, which is his call. We are very, very touchy here aren’t we? Ever since the big explosion last week.

I say “what the hell” let’s just carry on as always – a new equilibrium will be found. And I’m with Robbo, read what you want to read, skip the rest, and contribute – as he says, it’s the way to shape this place we all share.

Cor – I wake up the next morning and look at all this! Three things …
1. In context, at war, 1943 = no problem
2. Today, with real cities, one sided either way = grossly inappropriate
