I would definately say Blackbushe and some at Farnborough all in September 1958.
No dates for the these B/W shots Albert but your probably right.
Phil.
These whipper-snappers haven’t lived! Battersea 1960.
I still think thats a good idea even today 🙂
Phil.
Excellent stuff – never seen a shot of the Rotodyne flying before.
This thread was started by somebody in a pub saying i have some pics you might like, i how wonder what else is out there in other peoples house’s.
phil.
Very nice shots 😉 Anna 😉
Thats what happens Anna when people in your local find out your in to Aircraft, they dump all there old photo’s on you 😀
Phil.
I think the Belvedere carrying a Bloodhound missile was probably taken at the SBAC Show at Farnborough in 1960. Note the spats on the rear wheels.
The Fairey Rotodyne picture was probably taken at the same Show.
You might be right about the Belvedere, the print has a kodak stamp dated 1960 but the Rotodyne is stamped 1958.
Anybody know what that is on the front of the Lincoln were the turret should be, it looks odd.
phil.
Now they are just glorious. Slightly dodgy way to transport missiles though! Thanks for that pick-me-up this dull Sunday!
Bye the look of it it’s nearly over the camera.
Fascinating stuff! Any more of the Firefly drone, or the Avenger?
Thanks for sharing 🙂 (PS That is a nice looking Twin Pin!)
No thats the lot i’m afraid.
Phil.
I hope not, I’d already discarded that idea!

Well dhfan you should not have because that’s what it is, well done
st170dw 😀
Phil.
It’s a corker!
Is it the right way up?
The tubular bits look at a glance like Hawker’s, but not under closer examination.
It’s so overcomplex it’s GOT to be British.
You wouldn’t want to get your fingers caught in it!
Wild guess would be release gear for aircraft to airship – DH-53?
Your on the right lines JD, and yes it is the right way up, i thought of putting
it on upside down but did’nt 😀
Phil.
Jimw’s on the right track 😀
Interrupter gear?
Mark
No, way off 😀
Ken Wallis and Little Nellie at Barton Airshow 😀
Phil.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Do you know what the small mirrorlike ball is?
I can see the reflection of the photographer in there. 🙂Cheers, Transall.
Yes I do know what the mirrorlike ball is, there are five or six placed
on the aircraft. They are laser detectors.
Phil.
Sunderland’s, RAF Calshot 😀
