Didn’t James Stewart fly B17’s over Europe?
Alex
Jimmy Stewart flew about 20 combat missions in B17s over Europe, he was in the Air force res in 1959 and then retired a Brigadier General.
BTW I think Harry Secombe was in the five mile snipers 😀
Phil.
I think Richard Todd was in the paras, and linked up with major Howard who did capture Pegasus Bridge on D Day. 🙂
oops beat me to it Kev Phil.
I have to disagree! The first two shots were definitely taken at the Silver Jubilee as the VC10 XV106 is recorded as static at that show, whereas the 1975 show was attended by XV102. The Tornado fin is without much doubt that of XZ630/P12 which first flew on 14/03/77. You’re probably right about the others though.
The tonka was XZ630 as seen here, the 25 flypast was flown by JPs of Support
Command. 🙂
Phil.
Absolutly marvellous, thanks for posting 😀
Phil.
Maybe its Falafal or Gyro or Hummus 😀 :diablo: :p
Cheers
RER
Or it could be something simple like “ABOUT BL**DY TIME”
:p :diablo: 😀
Cheers Phil.
It is not yet up and running.
What you can see is just a test.
Moggy
Thanks for that Moggy.
Good night Phil. 🙂
wasnt there an episode of The Twilight Zone that used the same idea but had a pax. on an airliner looking out the window and only he could see the ‘gremlins’ pulling bits off of the aeroplane..?? 😮 was also used in a Simpsons episode with Bart being the only one to see them loosening the wheels on the school bus..!??
anyways, the value of the book has got to be a nice suprise for ‘Bert Van Dalen’ .. thats another one to keep an eye out for at car-boot sales then…
Neil.
Yes Neil your right there was, and William shatner was the passenger.
Phil.
“SAUCER OF CREAM FOR TABLE TWO”
May not be aviation realated – strictly speaking.
Thanks Moggy (and others)
Nice thread, with some interesting information.
There is no MAY about it it should no be on here, end of story, its about harbours for christ sake. And what the hell has Blackpool got to do with it Hmmmm
Desperately amusing Mike
Photographed from an Historic aircraft, extensive use of the Mulberry in an anti-aircraft role protecting troops against what are now historic aircraft.
What a bl**dy lame excuse for puting up photos with no Aviation content
whatsoever, why not post pics of the London Underground or an anderson shelter
and many troops were protected by a hole in the ground. one mention of a P51 in the whole thread. And your going on about a few photographers posting some pics of RIAT.
PS. To Damien and the other Photographers that post on here, when you go somewere else please let us know. 😡
A couple of Historics from RIAT.
Found this from Air-Pic 1974.
phil.
Hi
Just been through all Air Pic for 1976 -1978, this is the only thing i can find,
no mention of F14s at all.
Phil.
I think “pans” is an appropriate word since that’s what that once mighty tin triangle is going to end up as – kitchenware! 😀
your probably right 😀
Just looking in the Photo sections.
Phil.
There was a sh!tbag selling pictures of Dr Harold Shipmans surgery on Ebay
a couple of months back. 😡
