I’m sorry that’s not quite right. When the BBMF left Coltishall for it’s new home at Coningsby in March 1976 the turret had not yet been fitted.
The turret was started to be fitted at Coningsby round about the 18 march 76, she did a display in Holland on 4 may and it was finished by then.
Here are another two adverts to add to the one Moggy C has indicated

Not seen them yet, but then again I suppose if I buy a TV that would help.

Thanks chaps, it was taken in colour with a polarizer so the saturation is high to start with 🙂
I’ve still not seen an advert for pork yet 🙂

Nice pics Anna x 🙂
Just heard that the BBMFs Dak is having an engine changed due to metal found in the oil, don’t know how true this is BTW.
Superb second set of pictures – thank you. Back to your earlier point I like the idea. In theory it makes all the sense in the world but in practice? DAS have been onsite for years and predate the IWM – I believe. They also contribute heftily to IWM funds. Bearing in mind the logistics to do what you suggest and that the majority who would undertake it are volunteers I cannot see it ever becoming a reality, although I’d like to be proved wrong.
Apologies for extensive thread drift here…….:)
My take on it is the shows are a sell out so why bother, if Cosford can do it then so can Duxford, they emptied the American hangar in no time, it just needs someone with a bit of will power that’s all, some times I wonder if the people that are running these sited
are in to aircraft or just businessman.
Nice shots.
Thanks Anna LOL x 🙂
Can you explain ’tilt-shift’ please?
Lovely images 🙂
Moggy
Tilt-shift lenses are used mainly by architect photographers to correct converging verticals, very expensive bit of kit, Brian’s used a software program to good effect for those pics.

Very nice photo’s. A joy to view them all. Alas the photo’s of the TSR2 do evoke a feeling of sadness. “what if”………..
Can you imagine a flight line of those at Coningsby all in 70s wrap round camouflage.
Some more from a murky Cosford, so I’ve burned the sky out. 🙂 btw a large post.
