When did you last see an advert for Bacon or Sausages on T.V. ?
I rarely have much to add to this thread, I’m just a reader like so many others. But for once I can.
And please don’t think this is provocative as it is an image of high forum interest (Even if of low technical quality)
It’s an abomination, the man who thought it would be a good idea to put another seat in such a beautiful aircraft as the Spitfire, should have been taken outside and beaten to death with his own spleen.
Just my opinion mind. LOL
🙂 Yes I agree, but I don’t know how practical it would be given the relatively limited space on show days.
Well seeing as it’s an IWM why have we got old airliners on site, what I was thinking is bring a few out every say 4 years, and have a theme, bomber then fighters. 🙂
Jim 7 have you sorted out how to do the eye drops yet?

Terrific pictures of the TSR2 – it is somehow more impressive away from surrounding aircraft, as it is at Duxford.
I think that Duxford are missing a great opportunity with some of their aircraft by not bringing some outside on air show days, thanks for the comments Charlie. 🙂

Oh dear….. :(
Sorry Bob I meant to say the same two seat Spitfire. 🙂
Just a little background.
A few keen photographers took to attending airshows with their DSLRs, standing in the same place, and posting dozens of near identical images.

Which is what this Thread has in spades , I don’t think I can stand seeing another two seat Spitfire take off or land, but hey why use one shot when a hundred will do. 🙂
I’m not questioning the popularity of the thread, just why it’s on here, what’s historic about a couple of lynx dropping in or a red bull stopping for a bit of fuel?
Now this is just getting silly.
Had you checked you would see that the Photographic section is for help and advice on photographic matters and air show photos non of which Duxford and other museums fall into.
Brian
Well to me an aircraft in the air at Duxford is no different than one at RIAT, Legends etc, Cosford is an active airfield with a museum so what’s the difference ?
What I would like to know is why this whole thread is not in the photography section or is it ok to put pics up from other museums , such as Hendon Diary, Cosford Diary, etc? that shows more or less the same aircraft be moved from one position on the airfield to another 🙂
A good set again Anna 🙂
Copyright lasts for the lifetime of the artist plus 70 years after their death. If someone takes a pic of a spitfire they can give you permission to use it.
Nice shots Phil 🙂 I was unable to attend at the weekend, my dog broke his toe .
The weather was not good for photography. Sorry about your dog. x
Yes, but I wonder when NASA started tracking all the junk; was the technology even available on some of the earlier Space Shuttle missions? I don’t dispute it is all tracked now.
Did you read all the posts in this thread?
My ‘anti-gravity spaceships and particle-beam weapons’ joke was in reference to a completely outlandish claim made in the original post.[
Yes I read it all, and I agree with you it’s bull****. just lifted this from NASA site.
More than 500,000 pieces of debris, or “space junk,” are tracked as they orbit the Earth. They all travel at speeds up to 17,500 mph, fast enough for a relatively small piece of orbital debris to damage a satellite or a spacecraft.
