Great shame the Science Museum does not pay as much attention to the artefacts it has stored at Wroughton. I am pleased to see it has obtained the Soyuz capsule.
They should spend some money on restoring the Schneider Trophy instead of on Capsule that took the Second Brit in to space.
Great pics Mark, BTW the girl who the sailor is kissing died earlier this year, bless her.
A man from uncle…
I should think he would like to be remembered for his role in the Magnificent Severn than the MFU LOL
Excellent set of pics, the light on Stonehenge is brilliant 🙂
Was this a Mistake to.

Nice set Anna 🙂
Lift can be shown with spoon and a running tap in a sink. 🙂
No, wrong, these are ones I have seen and were within the last couple of years, not even one decade, I’d say that’s a less than good record, hence my point, maybe there’s a time to stand aside if the machine starts running away from you and your reactions start to slow.
How many mishaps do you think Eric (winkle) Brown had in his lifetime of flying?
Having seen a poorly executed landing and very late goaround in the P40 at Duxford and a test flight in the new Hawk 75 where power dropped and altitude lost due to a distraction and also a Spitfire display with undercarriage not fully retracted the past few years then this wasn’t a moment too soon. I suspect that pride overrides sensibility at times and therein lies a problem.
So four or five mishaps in how many decades, I’d say that a very good record wouldn’t you 🙂
Cliff Spink and Jonathan Whaley are both in their late 60s and two of the best warbird pilots flying today. Dan Griffiths is another, although a bit younger. There will be pilots who are “past it” in their 50s and others much older and more capable. As in so many areas of human activity you cannot define capabilities by age alone.
Don’t forget Stephen Grey of the Fighter collection Charlie, he only stopped flying a high energy display in his Bearcat at 77 years old 🙂
I new that hence my LOL

Would many of us care….?:D
Charlie I should think the TV audience of 4.7bn for Premier League games shown in 212 countries care quite a bit. LOL
