They wrote: “This FG-1D plane flew in Escuadrilla 2, Escuadron Caza Bombardeo, Fuerza Aerea Salvadorena and was the participant of Soccer War. It have Grey/Light Blue/Yellow colours. Date – July 1969”.

Desperately seeking photo of a RDAF F/RF-35 Draken in natural metal/silver scheme.
As in the attached page of a 1970 Flight. Can anyone help?

Yes, this is really hard question. It is really looks like they were in natural metal scheme very short period – already in 1973 the planes had greenish paint on them:

I also seem, those men burned all photos of silver “Drakens” after they have repainted the planes 😀

And if to be serious – possible, these guys will be able to help ? – http://www.draken.dk/English.htm

That’s it! nice picture indeed. It’s also apprx the same time frame/era of the smaller pic above. Do the mentioned encyclopedia has any notes or captions about the drawing itself?? Where, what, who, when, name or artist. Most of all, do the drawing origin/represents fm an original picture?? Tks in advance.
p.s Do you have a copy of the article itself??

As to copy of that article – it contains nothing unusual. It have usual short survey of “Corsair” history from F4U1 through F4U5/7 up to FG1/FG2, like most part of books/articles/magazines dedicated to “Corsair” have. I feel sure, this was some serial English-language edition, which was translated to Spanish language.

Below are the cover page of particular issue, and the fragment of page with FAS “Corsair”.

As You see, there is not any specific information. Also this article have not any information about artist, have not any photos of foreign “Corsairs”.
So, only this image is related to FAS.

Has anyone seen in the Euro theater of IPMS the pic/drawing below? Pic & year of the magazine will be great in my research. It’s known to have won 1st prize during a 2002-2003 Euro competition. Photo via D. Mondey c. 1982.

No, I have not any aviation part in my “stores”, and I do not know, how to find them for any project.
I can only provide You with more images of R-1 grip (here is grip, produced in 1943) for understanding of it’s design and parts.
See attachments (they are clickable):

this pic of a Yak 3 cockpit/grip. Certainly looks right.

Important clarification is here:
– in that period (see the date on grip – February 1944) the fighters of Yak-1, Yak-7, Yak-9 types were in production. And most part of planes of those types had exactly such grip (it have the “R-1” designation) !
First serial Yak-3 fighter was built in March 1, 1944 – but this plane also could to have such grip, produced in February that year !

Thus, we can not say with 100-% certainty about exact plane type.
Instead, we can say only – this grip is from some of Russian Yak-1, or Yak-3, or Yak-7, or Yak-9 fighter.

See this grip on yoke:
http://forum-antikvariat.ru/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=860755

And YES – according to official sources, this grip design based on grip design of German Me-109 fighter !

what do you think, FLYER ?

I know this Fury very well. But my image shows tail of much lighter airplane obviusly – like Aeronca, Piper, or Cessna. I think, Mr Thornburg is much closer to reality.

Yes, Egypt and Syria were big friends during UAR times; and there we see the flag with UAR coat of arms:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/58/Flag_of_United_Arab_Republic.svg/125px-Flag_of_United_Arab_Republic.svg.pnghttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2b/Coat_of_arms_of_United_Arab_Republic_%28Syria_1958-61%2C_Egypt_1958-1971%29.svg/85px-Coat_of_arms_of_United_Arab_Republic_%28Syria_1958-61%2C_Egypt_1958-1971%29.svg.png
It is obviously UAR Mi-1. It will be great to see this helicopter in full view, with all insignia and markings !

And one more question. Who can help me to identify (looking on it’s tail only) the following aircraft of Cuban Air Force:
http://i788.photobucket.com/albums/yy169/19711011/Cubaquest_zpsfdea9171.jpg

This is enlarged fragment of large photo – sorry for low quality. Sadly, overall view of plane is blocked by people on photo.
Year – 1962. Place – Havana Airport. I cannot find any parallel with possible Cuban aircrafts – including military and civil machines – until today.

Thank You in advance.
