Richard lake is the new owner, fuselage being repaired at airframe assemblies and wings being done by hfl duxford who will assemble the aircraft to fly
Welcome Supermarine1, are you connected with this aircraft in some way ?
Steve “P”
You can only libel someone if it’s not true – it sounds like M12 has seen enough evidence to prove possession beyond reasonable doubt (the standard for civil law).
And I don’t know who it is either!
BTW, wasn’t someone jailed in the 90s for stealing RAF records from the (then) PRO?
I dont know either ! Has it any think to do with a dwarf !
Steve “P”
HI all, does anyone know web address for VMI engineering ? I cant seem to find it !!
Steve
Hi,
Steve P thanks for clearing up the confusion I caused myself 🙂
Can anybody say or show how much of the original aircraft is left and will be used in the rebuild is it being kept under wraps for the time being.
Must say that the pictures of EE602 on VMI engineering website are very good, how long doe’s it take for a fuselage to be built?Regards
Jay
Hi oldgit, on average we take about 12 months to put a fuselage together. This does depend on various factors though ! ie lenght of contract, money & available labour. Usually lenght of contract dictates the other two !!
Steve “P”
Hi Steve “not the viz” 😀
So is EP122 at Airframe assemblies then?, and who owns it?
Regards
Jay
Yes oldgit it is, but no idea who ultimate customer is !
Steve “P”
Just loiter around and Duxford….and perhaps you will!
Dont do much loitering when at Duxford Andy !! only work !!
Steve P
HI Ian Ward has EE602 a MKV in his work shop. EP122 is owned by A.N.Other.
Steve “not Viz” Phillips
Possibly. With P9374 you got the book and the website. But with N3200 you will get the film! 😉
Well i hope i get a bit part !!
Steve
SM845….currently a bit further south than DX, down the M11 around the M25..A3 and across the Solent etc!!
In that well known restorAAtion house!!
Steve
Steve
Thanks for the confirmation funny enough I am watching the TV program on the recovery of Bud Wolfes Spitfire IIa P8074 in Ireland at the moment – first time I had the opportunity to see it
glad to see you making an appearance thus confirming my theory that whenever a recovery is televised you are in the programme !
Hope you are Geelong better
Paul
Paul, just to avoid confusion I am Not Mr Vizard although I do work for AA. Steve is not too well at the moment and i’m sure everyone here wishes him a speedy recovery.
Steve (Phillips)
A webpage and some great photos on Spitfire Mk 1 warbird in the UK – http://markonepartners.co.uk/
I wonder if they will do the same with N3200 ?
Steve
Check here but not sure how out of date info is..
http://www.strijdbewijs.nl/birds/spitfire/museum.htm
Its correct !
Steve
according to another’s website it is on Sandown so I suspect it at airframe assemblies getting the fuselage built
How right you are !!
Steve
David the £1.5k included the purchase price !! So about £1 mill for the rebuild. Probable worth ? What some one will pay !! Say £1.8. The more original parts the more you could add to the value !
Steve.
