Vickers part number.Am thinking undercart or hydraulic?

Hi Qldspitty, the number is taken from 2 seat flap valve linkage drawing . It fastens the ends of actuator rods too its treaded portion ! Think the drg no is 50239-111, but not sure if taper pin or solid rivet !

RW382 is known to be owned by someone else and X4650 will pass to an American collector when finished. TD314 has also recently changed hands. But I think you’ll find he owns the rest, including BR601, TB885 and also the MK1 identity X4276. Plus possibly one more MK1 identity yet to be confirmed.
I understand the Biggin Hill faciltity isn’t just for his own Spitfires.

    Keep going Monkey!!!

    Yes BofB you are right.

A link to an old Daily Telegraph article on the Spitfire I is below. I look forward to hearing more of what seems to be (judging by post content) another Spitfire collector – on such a scale!

I think its wrong to assume that Peter owns all these aircraft !!!

The tailplanes are adjustable via a screw jack at the rear of the fuselage that is operated by a hand wheel in the cockpit. These are connected by chains & sprockets.

Sopwith, the piece with Mary Ellis was shot at airframe assemblies at Sandown airport about a year ago. I was in one of the shots talking to Mary whilst working on a MK IX.

Any way, getting back on thread has anyone latest info on Spitfire MK VIII, G-ADIN , aka MT818. Is the grape vine right about it being sold ?

I agree. If you want this website to be more international, you need to start mentioning what type you guys are talking about. The S/N thing is good if you are only talking to someone at your airport. Anyone know what is happening to C-FPBJ these days?

    Nice one Eric !!

Mackerel, any chance you could actually mention what type of aircraft this is in your initial post? Not everyone has encyclopaedic knowledge of every aircraft serial.

    Thanks

Hi Markb & forumites, yes you are of course right about this, not every one is in to spitfires !! Sorry.

Tintriangle, I think the MKXIX is at duxford, possably at HFL. If you sawRM689 back in july/aug i would be suprised if both wings were on it !! or even at RR. SM520 is looked after by John & the lads at RR.
