They are called skin pins or avdel clips or cleco clips . They are all a varient on the same thing, ie holding two or more pieces of material together.

Hi AA if you are riveting up cockpit door then you will need csk rivets, probably SP71-304 for the top hat stiffeners (thats if you have drilled them 3/32dia ) & down the side edges SP71-403’s double flushed. The hinge at the bottom of door should be 1/8dia possably SP71-405 or 6 depending on whether you have the doubler on the bottom of the door. The internal attachment cleats are held on with 3/32 snap head rivets SP80-304’s. The canopy rail is riveted on with 1/8 csk rivets but not sure of lenght of the top of my head !

Hi Woodbridge10, I see your point but there are those on this forum that associate “new” with data plate rebuild which this is certainly not. Yes this is the second T9 to come from our workshop, the first being SM520. Im glad we gave you an insight as to what goes into these restorations .

Hi all, I tried to post this last night but had PC problems ! On Jeremy Vine show yesterday lunch time on radio 2, they had a Robert Fripp on the show talking about his uncle Alfie & about him being shot down in 1939/40 . Made intresting listening. You might get the show on BBCI player. For those old enough to remember King Crimson, Robert Fripp was the guitarist in that group & many others.

Hi all, I also think that when we did the wings for Sir Tim Wallis’s Hurricane P3351 we put all the mounts in for the m/c guns & it was rumoured that they were going to be active for use at wannaka, shooting barrels out of the lake !! Only rumour though. Any thoughts on this one anybody ??
