Hi shepsair, I was just curious about wings, because we did the wings for the other two that CC put together (3579 & 1342) at Airframes. I spoke to you via are facebook site the other day in connection with the 109 fin skin.

Hi all, absolutly fantastic photo’s guys, really wish I was going now, I’ll be at fest of speed at goodwood !! Nice to see Hurricane P3351, havent seen her since she was sat in Tony Ditheridges hangar when aircraft was handed over to Sir Tim Wallis in I think 1997. We at airframe assemblies did the wings for her.

Hi Mark12, judging by the yellow bird mascot on the wall behind the tail this could be a workshop in essex !!. Can you let on as to who is doing the wings ? Or PM me !!

    Hi Steve “P”

This is fantastic and just what so many people have been waiting for..:eagerness:

Always thought that the Seafire firewalls were exactly like the Spitfire Mk V unless it was for the later Griffon mark which I believe was angled at the top, or is this just like the MkXII firewall?

    Regards

    Jason

Hi Oldgit, Seafire MKXV frame 5’s are pretty much the same as MKV or MKIX but there are extra stiffeners , the lower carry through spars are different to accept griffon style engine mounts & there is a gearbox mount like a MKXIV. This Fr5 is not canted over like MKXIV spits though.

I remember going to a small airfield at viilafrance just outside Lyon to fit a pair of wing tips to Christophe Jacquards MKXIV SM832 in 1998 or 99 and also there were 2 guys from Skycraft fitting a new prop after he stood her on her nose.

I would say what ever the price I doubt that there would be much profit in it considering the amount spent to get 3 of everthing made. Guess profit will be in N3200 & P9373. I wonder how N3200 is getting on & will 9373 be started ??

    gun port cover

Hi ,I think if this a/c was a PR 1B I dont think that there would have been any gun ports to put cover on. Looks like what you have is definately a gun port cover though. As for drawings I dont think you will be lucky.

Hi, there is a small stowage box on the port side of the cockpit bolted to frame 9, its labled controller stowage, and I have seen somethimg similar to this in one of them. Not sure of its use though !

Hi Qldspitty, the top hats the radio rack sits on are fastened to the frames the same way as the intercostals between the frames, ie, there is a cleat at each end on the top side of the top hat channels.

    Cheers Steve”P”
