As an aside, does anybody else remember being sat-down in front of the ‘school television set’ and waiting (in pre-video days!) as the on-screen clock ran-down to the plinky-plonky piece of music called ‘popcorn’ I think?

This, CD? (er, 7″ vinyl actually) I remember that too.

how would you feel about some Yank (or Pole or Syrian) moaning about UK internal politics?

Yes, thank goodness America never gets involved in other peoples’ business. Er…hang on a moment…

    Hi All,
Well to be totally honest not just today as it has been the last few days GOOGLE 😡 Their search engine working intermittently no matter what I do to try and solve this problem on my end it has no effect, even refreshing the page then deleting the page then repeating the process although I did get one hit with a site about Google having problems yesterday, seems that at 07:00 a.m. very low in complaints then by the evening shot up to 75% complaints so obviously not just in the UK anybody else have similar problems ? 🙁

    Geoff.

Fine at home, but playing up at work.

Could someone please point me in the direction of this “Well regulated militia”? All I can see is virtually every Tom, Dick & Harry having the right to buy a gun, and far too many of them using it to settle scores with. I’d have much more respect for the gun lobby if only they were at least honest about just liking guns for themselves (each to his own, etc) and accepting continual massacres as a price worth paying, instead of deliberately misinterpreting some archaic 200+ year old law. Can I ask our US forumites what -if anything- they think should be done about the problem; surely the answer can’t be even more of what caused the problem in the first place, ie yet more lethal weapons in circulation?

Oh, and just in case it’s now so routine that no one even cares or notices, here is the latest-

My heart goes out to you, mate. My family always had at least one cat, from before I was born till we lost our last one when I was in my forties. Broke my bloody heart when he went, and like you I knew I couldn’t face going through it again. Thinking of you.
