Apologies for resurrecting this old thread, but does anyone know how easy (or otherwise) it is to get from Orlando to Fantasy of Flight by public transport? Thanks for any advice.

I must admit, I have a few reservations about the “revisionist” aspect, but for a man who made such a profound if unsung contribution to the War -and thus to our lives today- I’m more than happy to set those doubts aside. Even if we judge it all by the standards of the times, I’d imagine there were any number of gay men in high places back then who got themselves in a scrape and benefitted from a judicial blind eye. Turing should have been one of them.

That’s an interesting question. I’d guess just a little earlier than Derekf. So many people learnt to fly in the First World War and there were so many surplus aircraft knocking about after the armistice, I’d hazard a guess at about 1916?

It happens, deal with it, in an intelligent manner.

Such a manner does not include the sky-is-falling rhetoric and passing laws that only affect law abiding citizens while criminals laugh at the arrogance shown by poliiticans as they pass their new laws they do not give a damn about while being as useful as teats on a bore.

Never. If I ever become so de-humanised (or “intelligent”?) that I can accept brutal mass-murders of primary school children as “just something that happens,” then they can take me outside and shoot me. I guess you’ve neatly proved my point though about these massacres being seen as a price worth paying for America to keep its lethal toys. I really have better ways of spending my time than wasting it on rubbish like this, so I’m out.
