Yes. Perhaps I am not making myself clear to the young antagonists here. By ‘wishes of the population’ I am of course refering to population of the Falkland Islands. The people who live there. I really did think that was an obvious statement. I shall have to rethink the wording and structure of my arguments in future. Sorry for any confusion.

Antimatter ? Dream on…
People talk of it has if it was easy to produce or store…
bahhhhhhh
Yeah! Bah! Humbug!

YOU said that the britains’ claim is based on wishes of the population. I simply said the same thing, if argentines claimed it’s the population’s wish to take back the Falklands. SAME THING YOU SAID, now why the whining? So ******* typical.
Typical of what?
The Falklands war was basically due to the diminishing control the Brits had on the South America and this is the trend which appears to have effect all over the world. Through out the 20th century we saw the downfall of the British Empire and unwilling to admit this, egocentric Brits wage war upon all who challenge its rule. And not only with Argentina but also a number of others like Palestine etc. And not only with Argentina but also a number of others like Palestine etc.
Had it not been their devastated situation from WW2 they would have wage war against India as well. Thatcher actually has an excuse for making such a decision, being a woman and all she could just claim itβs her PMS acting up…
Well I suppose I’ll just have to take the last comment under advice, the rest of it is a rhetoric I haven’t seen in years. After WW2 the conflicts that Britain got involved with were all part of the dismantling of the empire and nobody I know is sad to see the back of it. Its history, stop crying about it. If you plan on doing something to take revenge you’ll be assured of a very hot reception. As Death wots-his-name said, we’ll kick your scrawny arse. On the other hand if you plan to visit for peaceful purposes you will be made welcome so long as you don’t take the p!ss.
Have a nice day.

Well if Dan Brown’s explanation is accurate then it would certainly remove the need for warhead ignition. A tiny amount coming into contact with, well, anything really would cause an explosion. Basically chap I don’t know. Sorry.
Phil
lol π
Okay. Point taken.
Phil π
> Blimey Indian you don’t do half measures do you?
I have never been accused of lack of imagination π
I like the cut of your gib young sir.
Phil π
Wow, so if the entire south american population’s wishes are to take back the Falklands, can we claim the same thing?
Nice bluster. Says nothing, answers nothing. You’re right. Ignorance really is bliss. So is stupidity. What you are saying is that it is perfectly okay for a large population to ride rough shod over a small one? Just what is right and proper about that? If Brazil decided it wanted the territory of Paraguay and Uraguay; are you saying it would be okay to invade them so long as the population of Brazil were okay about it? What price the opinion of the two invaded countries? Also. Who said anything about attacking Brazil?
Phil
Ok..its a T56…but where are the props and gear box ??.The T56 engine is about the size of a 40 gall oil drum..don’t look like one to me!..Very little is being said about this incident..no reason why it should not be discussed in this forum though.?.All grist to the mill!!
IT WAS IN A CRASH YOU NUTCASE! THINGS BREAK OFF AND GET DAMAGED. Perhaps the props and gearbox were 3 miles up the road. Nobody is getting oversensitive here they’re just getting PO’ed with stupid f***ing questions like that one. What the hell are you smoking have you ever heard of cause and effect?

Blimey Indian you don’t do half measures do you? The problems are that Chile and Argentine have a history of antagonism toward each other so what would Argentina agree to in order to overcome it? Agreed that since the Pinochet incident relations between Britain and Chile have cooled somewhat but how are they getting on with Argentina these days? That said I’m sure that if enough South American countries could overcome their differences in order to acheive a common goal I’m sure Britain’s hold on the islands could become untenable but tell me this. When they have taken the islands what do they intend to do with the people who live there? Ethinically cleanse them? Remove them, kick them out of their homes and jobs or just annex them and call them…. what? Argentine? Brazilian? Chilean? Are they going to be sent packing without any aid? Held captive in a camp somewhere? Have there lives and property taken away with no hope of being paid? Have the population been taken into account at all or is it just because they are British they can be booted around like this?
Phil
Rabie, it isn,t a matter about resources.
It is just a piece of what we consider our land and that is enough
reason to want it back.
And of course if you want a more “poetical” answer, after 1982 we have a stronger reason: the islands are bathed with the blood of all our young soldiers that died there.
I just write these no to start a political discussion, just to answer you about the reason of the claims. And about the people, there is no argentines because when the british took the island in 1833, they destroyed the little argentine village that was there and after that they brought their own people to colonize the islands
Hmm. I have a feeling of de ja vue here. Haven’t we has this discussion before?
What interests me is the ideal that the feeling is stronger in Argentina because of the blood of the young Argentine soldiers who died fighting for them. I see no mention is made of the blood of the young British soldiers who died fighting for them in this statement. I accept that being from Argentina your feelings go out only to all things Argentinian but you must accept that to Brits, our thoughts go out to all things British and so far as international law is concerned that includes the Falkland Islands.
What is most tragic is that it has always been and in fact still is the policy of successive British governments to persuade the Falkland Islanders to accept at least a modicum if not total Argentine rule. It was a slow old road and it could have taken decades if not centuries to acheive. It might not have been acheived at all but that policy was actively persued by the British Government. As with Gibralta the onus is on the population of the territory to decide for themselves what they want not some tin pot general trying to deflect domestic strife. What Argentina did in 1982 put back the possibility of Argentine rule over the Falklands decades if not made it an impossibility.
So what if the Falklands are closer to Argentina than they are to Britain? The Faroe Islands are closer to Britain than they are to Denmark but they still belong to Denmark and Britain respects that. Argentinas claim is based on geography, a peice of paper that nobody can produce and a promise. Britains claim is based on international law and the wishes of the population.

The point defence fighter is a thing of WW2. Some where designed, but not fielded in the 1950s, in France eg. Today the best point defense fighters are S-400, PAC-3 and SM-2ER.
Dis is that really you in the signature?

I doubt very much that it was up to anything that requires the services of Mulder and Scully. Has it occurred to you that they may have been on a routine transport flight? Moving spare parts and machinery from one place to another? It turns out that it was flying within the US occupied zone so you assume it must have been up to something very hush hush. Well fair enough everybody likes a conspiracy theory, personally I reckon they were just doing their job. Nothing ‘secret squirrel’ or anything, just doing a job of work and they died for it. Yes I am upset but no I don’t think they were doing anything covert.
Phil
For those of you who are curious as to what it was doing. I assume it was flying. Thats normally what service aircraft do when they are not on the ground. They fly as in ‘up in the air.’ they have wings and everything you see and that is what they are designed to do so I assume that is what it was doing.
I’d love to know what some of you are smoking.
Phil
Better off with Rafales? Why? Because they look prettier I assume.
