Brazil may buy some Mirages (around 20?) in the future.

the 2000-9 is the name of the version for the UAE, a sort of 2000-5 Mk2 + in fact.
So Brazil could buy some 2000-5 Mk2 and could also add options, Dassault sells its planes with such or such thing, the countries have to choose what they need.
    anyway a 2000-9 is just a 2000-5 Mk2 +

about avionics, in fact the 2000-5 took some things from the development of the Rafale.

With the way Dassault is marketing.. why go for a Rafale when they have been pushing the Mirage 2000 more, especially since it’ll obtain quite a bit of the Rafale’s avionics… especially since the Mirage 2000 has the advantage of having many users, combat experience, and known to be cheaper to operate than the F-16

I’m more interested in the EM variant, since the IR variant shouldn’t be comparable with the AMRAAM but more with the sidewinders..

but yes some radar specs and analysis of how the missle can perform based on it’s aerodynamics should be some good indicators.. where’s Vortex when we need him 🙁

It has the RDY-2 radar with a greater range, about 10 or 15% more than the RDY used by the 2000-5 (although it may be possible that some 2000-5 mk2 have the RDY-2)

It will carry the MICA IR (which isn’t the case for all the 2000-5 for the moment – just a matter of time) and it will carry the Black Shaheen, an export version of the Scalp / Storm Shadow

A little difference with the 2000-5, it has new larger screens in the cockpit.

The 2000-9 also has a network system which allows to share informations between the planes (as in modern aircrafts such as Rafale etc.)

The 2000-9 also has a data processing modular equipment like the state of the art aircrafts : F-22, Rafale etc…

Do you have pics of the cockpit? I’ve seen the 2000-5’s cockpit, the MFDs are rather small and it does not “look” as impressive as it’s F-16 rival..

I’ve heard that the Brazilians are being offered a Mirage 2000 variant that contains much of the avionics found in the Rafale.

So i guess Hamburger will be able to enjoy himself. Besides, that particular McD is only 150metres away from the local coffeeshop (of the pot-kind) which was conveniently built inside the Town Hall building 😀

wow eating coffee and getting stoned on Vlaii, that must be heaven! 😮

Incorrect. India’s R-77 exports are now in the thousands. In addition, claims of it being acquired as a stopgap measure are also net generated myths.

Indiana produces it’s own R-77? something new I learned today. Who are they exporting it to other than domestic use.
