Will check next week – i’m not at home right now.
Ah, the sensible way to leave an MV-22 :diablo: In helo-mode it’s like a Ka-22, with the two side-by-side rotors taking care of torque.
I don’t think any KC-135A exist anymore. They are all either KC-135D/E (flying with the Guards/Reserves if they are airworthy) or KC-135R.
for exercise Garuda were they M2K-5 equipped with RDY2 radar or just M2K-C with RDY ? Does french AF fly any M2K-5 ?
Mirage 2000C’s have the RDI radar, the French have upgraded 37 of them to 2000-5 standard with RDY radar. The ones at Garuda were RDI equipped ones.
Well, the boats actually will be manned, but the sailors will be getting the new camouflage uniform so you can’t actually see them 🙂
Camouflaged swabbies? To make sure you don’t see ’em if you want to rescue yet another suicidal deckscrubber or what?
Absolutely. Redicilous.
Souda was Greece’s last operational T-33 base, they were retired in 2002 IIRC.
Don’t worry Asia – your pics got my attention longer than the real Patrouille got last time i saw’em 😉
The only military-esque support Venezuela has been getting from the US over the last years, was for the opposition. Not the government.
Okay, let us start…
Turboprop cargo force: An-24PB Curl….
Actually, that’s an An-24RV. Cyrillics…
Alternative name for A-50 Golden Eagle is Wei Kuo, foster brother of Ching Kuo. That’s because 100 engineers from AIDC involved in the Ching Kuo went to work on the A-50.
I thought all Taiwanese aircraft got named after members from the CKS-clan? The AT-3 is the Tzu Chiang, the T-CH-1 (and R-CH-1 as well, i guess) Chung Hsing. Family members too, right?
You’re right – they have been taken up again, flying with 8sqn from Bashar.
And WTF about that respecting countries thing? It’s people that deserve respect or not, not the piece of real estate they love or were born on
Yes, i’ve been inside an A-50. It was the prototype though, and the bulk of it’s radar operator stations inside were gutted. But it definately had enough operators on board to be able to do lots of controlling without needing to datalink it to the ground.
Last T-bird in USAF markings was the NT-33A flying with Wright Laboratories/CALSPAN from Buffalo, NY. It was retired in 1997 when it went to the Wright-Patterson museum. It still had that metal finish.
Operational T-birds survived into the second half of the 1980s as squadron hacks.
But countries like Belgium and Canada don’t have independent airforces… so how would you solve that?
