Russians used to have canned vodka (straight, not the girlie stuff) when some brilliant tax law put state revenue on bottles of liquor… I had the stuff once (with the two Natasha’s actually), but unfortunately that was on purpose. I would have liked it really more if i would have been driving around, feeling really thirsty and decided to buy a canned softdrink for behind the wheel 😀

Come and think of it, it’s a miracle this didn’t happen. It’s definately the Arthur-way.

Allow me for some nitpicking…

CJ-3, CJ-5, CJ-6: Yak-18
There is no CJ-3, the CJ-6 is actually more like the Yak-52 than as the Yak-18.
J-2: MiG-15
J-4, J-5: MiG-17
The MiG-15 was never built in China, the MiG-17 was built only as J-5.
Y-10: 707
The Y-10 is actually a whole lot smaller than the 707. More like a CV880.
Y-14: An-26
Designation was dropped, should be Y-7H.
Z-5, Z-6: Mi-4
The Z-6, while being based somewhat on the Mi-4, was a completely different helicopter looking more like a Mi-8 (albeit an extremely ugly one) than anything else.

Funny is that none of China’s indigenous designs ever reached real production, one can argue that the J-8II was the first one. But the JJ-1 (jet trainer looking like a T-33-mates-Fouga), Beijing-1 (that’s the small twin-prop transport, looks like the DH Dove made love to the Il-12) and Y-10 never reached production. Of course Soviet licenses and non-licensed production was a lot cheaper and various brilliant policies during the Mao days did all they could to ruin the country, but it can’t be said that all aviation knowledge in India was imported. Unlike some other countries i can think of, including Israel (the Arava and Lavi were designed almost completely by Americans, the Westwind is a Rockwell design, the Nesher was obviously French while it were American engineers modifying it into the Kfir).

As for the drawing: duh. A little photoshop, a little drawing yourself, and a lot of quality reduction in the original and suddenly you find that some of the more gullible people think you’re Mike Badrocke!
