The napalm recipe has been removed, but i do recommend re-reading that post.
While i am absolutely sure anyone with half a brain will be able to find the recipe for it (and for far nastier stuff as well), on second thoughts i do concur to the inflammatory* content of my previous post. As such, i do think now that posting the recipe for Flammagel in this forum was out of place, and could cause misunderstandings considering this forum or the people attending.
* = Yes, that was a horrible pun.

I don’t think napalm was used on firebomb attacks on Germany, but it was definately used by the USAAF against Japan. I think the first use of industrially produced jellified fuel for firebombs was the March 9th, 1945 bombing raid on Tokyo. Prior to that, the stuff had probably seen some small tactical use, and i think in a more improvised form it existed a bit longer.
Of course, ‘napalm’ existed long before the word itself became used for the stuff (Naphtane and palmitate, both of which together happen to be some kind of soap, mixed with fuel, and produced by Dow Chemicals) dropped on Korea and especially Vietnam. It’s basically a jellified fuel, and while various sorts of fuel are often used, it doesn’t really matter for the efficiency of the stuff.
Home-made napalm for dummies, for your lonely summer nights… better not make napalm, try the following:
Ingredients:
flour (cheap stuff will do just fine)
milk, skimmed (buy whatchamacallit stuff at your ???-shop, or ask for used -damn, forgot- at your local ….).
Mbanza or any other totally exotic yet undrinkable third-world syrupy booze made of fruits.
Cinnamon
Brown sugar
Cream
Put the flour in a bowl, and add a mixture of milk and the Mbanza (which is a Rwandese banana liquer) and mix it together. Make sure it becomes a very runny and a little bubbly – a bit of carbonated water can help if you want. As a finishing touch, add a fair pinch of cinnamon.
Take a frying pan, heat up some butter and pour in the dough. As soon as one side has become solid, sprinkle some sugar on top of the still soft side. Then flip over the pancake over. Turn the fire down really low so the sugar can caramelise. A few seconds before taking the booze-cinnamon-calories pancake out of the frying pan, put a lump of refrigerated cream on top to make it just a bit runny when serving.
Yummie!

The world wouldn’t be such a nice place now if Ed Wood did have the talent or cash… the products of his imagination were so incredibly weird, any sort of added quality (through cash/creativity/decent production… etcetera) would have done his work a great injustice. Even the tiniest aspect of any of his films lacks even a hint of quality. They are perfectly balanced in their own right, which probably gives them their current status. I personally think they are higher art, just because everything in it is such absolute crap.
Bela Lugosi’s cameos (well, he’s actually the storyteller in Glen or Glenda and has a very prominent part) are IMHO only a part of the whole picture. Lugosi himself is absolutely heartbreaking in all his demention, addiction, denial and -indeed- dignity, but none of the films really rest on Lugosi as an actor. Boris Karloff could have taken those parts just as well
😀
Karloff? Karloff? Sidekick? Fukc you! That Limey cokcsukcer does not deserve to smell my sh!t!

Even though it feels about as disgusting as having just been raped by a yak-with-leprocy, i agree with US Agent (all i can hope is that the feeling is mutual 😀 ).
Most, if not all of the posters here have at some point stated their political opinions on quite a few of the tense topics popping up every now and then. This will make their integrity doubtfull, at least in the eyes of (some of) their ‘political opponents’ in this forum. Just think of the venom about to be released if a Pakistani post is being deleted when there is an avid Indian as a moderator…
Resident posters for whom i have great respect and an almost absolute faith in their abilities as moderators (Kev, Hand, Ink, Frank, SOC back in the old days Biff… yes Geedee, you as well), as far as i can remember have all partaken in some rather fierce debates. Anyone disagreeing with them being moderator can start digging into the archives to discredit them without any problem.
It will be a great idea to stir up some more dung though.

I drove once next to the most elevation point of NL on my way from AMS to Enschede. :…… guess what ……….. 80 meters 🙂
Euhh… that would mean i either don’t live in the Netherlands, or that you are wrong. The place my flat is on is an astonishing 86 metres above sea level. If you don’t get vertigo from looking in that terrible abyss: the highest point in the Netherlands is 326 metres above the sea. It’s at the place where the borders of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany (and Moresnet, if anyone cares for a bit of obscurity) meet.

In all honesty, Comet: i can’t see the fun of it in any sorts of way. And i like to think of myself of someone who can see the fun in almost anything.
What do i think about you using two names?
“That woman is weird!”
No offense.
Kev,
My hands go clapclapclapclap. Very well put 🙂

I can’t say he ever made me laugh – i never heard a joke by him that wasn’t a new pinnacle of corniness.
The guy had absolutely great timing though, which certainly made him a great comedian in his days. But that was centuries ago. I think his reputation as an embassador from the nice and cosy homefront to the US troops far away in the fields (well-deserved in the days before G.I. Boum Boum and My Lai) did a lot more for the praise he currently gets. If you ask me, another part of America’s innocence has died with Bob Hope. And that’s a very sad thing.
WC Fields, or Andy Kaufman… now those were great!

I never understood why the cult-maniacs proclaimed Plan 9 from Outer Space the worst film ever. Of course it’s terrible, but so is every film by Ed Wood. I think Glenn or Glenda (about the right to be a drag queen, which is perfectly normal unlike those disgusting perverted homosexuals) outweirds Plan 9 by a very, very wide margin.
Of course, Bela Lugosi also stars in Glenn or Glenda.
Another one to avoid:
Anger Management (even though i like Marisa Tomei a lot)
Oh, and i think the best part of the Matrix: Regurgitated were the horribly knitted woolen sweaters. Did anyone see any sheep in Zion? Neither did i.
