Put all of your money into nuclear research cause in conventional war, you are F***ed up the A$$. No way on this earth can you survive like that unless you are like Israel and have big brother looking out for you and handing you some top of the line equipment for next to nothing.

Forget the Su-35, look at the Su-30 MKI. With the BARS radar, it is lightyears ahead of the FC-1 it can lauch R-73s before the FC-1s even know that the SU-30 is there.

F-16 is a great attacker aircraft. It can also take care of itself in Air to Air. The reason that we hear about so many F-16 crashes is because there are so many of them compared to Gripen and Mirage2K.

P.S. Of course Israel likes American equipment like the F-16, they get it nearly for free.

Yup, the 688I, Seawolf, and Virginia all have bow mounted planes.

The Jimmy Carter (SSN-23) is 12,158 tons submerged while SSN-21 and SSN-22 are 9,137 tons submerged. It is extended 100 feet aft of the sail to accomodate the Multi-Mission Platform.

If they do buy them, what kind of weapons package will they be getting? Any of the new goodies like SLAM-ER. That would be an Indian’s wet dream. Which C version will it be, there are many blocks of C version P-3s.

Back to the thread, I would take the Superbug over anything in the air short of a Raptor. Its only real downside is the range. If only it could get some CFTs, it would be amazing. BTW, did you guys know that the Hornet is the only CTOL plane in the world that can take off from a carrier without the catapult.

The F-2 is horrible, I would take the Block 50 and higher F-16s over it. The japanese composite materials on it are too weak and limit the airframe. The Japs also made the mistake of not choosing a larger engine.

This here can be found on globalsecurity.org
    http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/iraq/iraq-corps1.htm

    The new Iraqi Air Force:

    40x F-15
    160x F-16

    50x AH-64
    15x UH-60
    5x SA-365
    15x Bell 406

    5x MIM-104 Patriot batteries
    10x MIM-23 Hawk batteries
    100x M6 Linebacker (Stinger)
    10x M48 Chaparral FAADS (Sidewinder)
    100x M163 PIVADS (20mm Gatling)
    500x FIM-92A Stinger and FIM-43 Redeye MANPADS

Holy Shiiit, depending on what model the F15/16 are, that would make them one of the most powerful AFs in the middle east, heck probably #2 or #3 after Israel and maybe Saudi Arabia.

Iran wanted to buy the Moldovan Mig-29s, US doesn’t want that to happen so they buy them. They were pretty cheap (in US terms)

I know that there is a Mig-29, and 3 Mig-21s in a museum in Washington State. They used to belong to a Museum in Arizona that I used to visit, but the collection was sold for an undisclosed amount. In Tuscon AZ, ther is a Mig-29,25,23, Mil-24 in a museum near Davis Montham, Finally I know that there is a MIg-29 near the entrance of Davis Montham AFB. It is parked in a row near a F15, A10, F16, C47, and other planes.

    Distiller,

Immunity to EMP still doesn’t mean anyting if it is just the FBL system that is immune. The computer that processes the commands is not immune to EMP, I don’t know of any current fiber optic processors.

Fly by Light is fiber optics. It is pretty much just the same as fly by wire in use. All that really matters is the computer controlling the system.

The planes in the pictures are ugly because they are the two seat variants. IMHO, all two seated F-16s look ugly because of the messed up canopy and the high spine behind it.
