It depends on the level of security clearance that your job demands.

    Whatever, 007.

How many of you checked what you were signing? You won’t have signed the act itself, merely a certificate to say that you’ve read, understood, and agree to abide by the terms laid down in a particular part of it.

In terms of whistleblowing, you have to question whether the thousands of e-mails full of snide remarks from government ministers and the like (which is all that seems to have come to light so far) was as bad as those laptops going missing, or personal data, or the other ****-ups that happen on a regular basis.

After six days of being snowed in, the council finally decided that sending a gritter through our village would be a good idea.

Unfortunately he didn’t grit, he just had the snowplough blade on (though not fully down) so he’s done a neat job of removing the last bit of grip any of us had.

The road is now less driveable than it was when it was two foot deep in snow.

Morons. Boils my **** that we have to pay for these “services”.

Thanks mate! Its a manual, though its no longer 2.8. The notorious AED got retired from duty about 2 days after I bought the car.

When I get down as far as Darley Dale and Matlock it feels like I’ve come home

It more or less is home for me, I’m just over the hill from Matlock.

This is a view from Froggat Edge, near Chatsworth. Halfway up the hill is a little car park and a bench, so one night this summer I stopped there and watched the world go by for a bit.

And I’ve found some random bits from my Le Mans trip.

I wanted this car really really badly.

Everything seemed that bit more magic at night. These guys had just been racing and were coming back into the paddock.

When the race was over, as soon as the barriers were up we got my old Jag out on the public part of the circuit. We got onto the Mulsanne straight and let it rip.

    I wish I was a better photographer. 🙁

I found out just how annoying deep snow can be by making the old Jag into a sledge. I tried charging the snow drifts on the garage site out back of the house and beached the thing. Took me AGES to dig it out.

It was fun, for all of about 30 seconds.

    The digging wasn’t.

That’s the problem though Bob. The industry class a modified car as any car that has been altered from its manufacturers original specification.

Handy if you’ve got something old that lives on steel wheels, but not so good for people such as yourself where alloys cost a packet.

Even buying an exact duplicate set of alloys to fit the tyres to would be classed as a modification as they were not original alloys!!!
Changing the tyres on the original rims is not a mod.

I’d like to see them try. They’d be getting a phone call for the “free recovery” every time I got a flat tyre if they tried that trick with me.

How does the idiot behind the desk in the insurance call centre know an identical alloy wheel, with an identical part number, wearing a different tyre is a different wheel? The air freshener will be a modification next.

Some people need to learn to think for themselves. These people are the same idiots that call out the AA to check the oil ‘cos the lights on on the dashboard.

Scary thing isn’t it that the world allows them to breed.
