Please don’t confuse respect with manners:)
Let your comments be the last in this indeed pointless discussion.
Manners are derived from respect.
Maybe finally you have got the point.
Who is saying it was a nuclear facility? Mossad? CIA? What do we have as evidence? Their word and few images, which don’t tell us much.
That may be the case. But go through your own posts and judge for yourself if anyone ever taught you the manners of civilised discussion.:)
Respect has to be earned…….
Why do you insist in asking the same questions over and over, you have already been told on more than one occasion that the nuclear theory is from completely indendent sources, not mossad or the CIA. Seriously learn to read, this ceaseless repetition is just pointless.
To answer the question of the thread, yes it will be enough, could it have been more? Certainly it could have been but as is it will do. I must confess that one of my major hopes is that they decide to put some armour in it, Both RUAG and an Israeli company offer armour kits for utility helos. IIRC (this is purely from my rather faulty memory so it may very well be wrong) the requirement was always for a cabin.
As to some of the pther points, with all due respect flex you seem to be attributing the US govt with a level of joined up thinking that it simply is not capable of. The reason the Raptor has survived is becouse both Lockheed and the DoD have spent 2 decades lobbying for it, have spread the workload over every state they can find and created the perfect sales image for it (no coincidence it ends up in every cartoon or film they need a plane in;) ). If you want to see how committed to the WOT the US is just look at how much is being spent on IED proof vehicles, body armour, new COIN doctrine, the spec-ops budget, etc etc etc.
The Commanche had to die, it was to close to the Apache in terms of capability and was really just a legacy of the Reagan era no limits defence spending period (just like the A-12, Sea Wolf and B-2). If anything it is surprising that it lasted as long as it did.
 You must be talking from a dream or what. Where in hell did I say they were Russian? You were talking about why countries buy American. Go back and read your own posts to get back on track on topic before trying to spoil my day once again..
You are mistaken. The market ain’t nowhere near being open. It is the most politicized market you can find. There are pretty few users that freely fluctuate between Eastern and Western hardware..
You seem to have mis-understood what was being discussed, I was never talking about who buys American, simply pointing out that the arms market is no where near as tied up as some people like to think. The Multi-national museum that is the Indian armed forces is an excellent example of this.:)
Hawkdriver, I think the point he’s making is that if you maintain a small but well-trained armed force, you can use this core to train and build up a larger force in relatively short time, without sacrificing quality.
Regardless of that, if you’re looking at the EU vs a resurgent Russia scenario, I believe Poland and Germany alone have more than 200’000 standing ground troops that can be concentrated on a relatively narrow Polish front, while the Russian army currently has, according to warfare.ru, around 320’000 standing ground troops spread out across a continent-straddling country. Looking at the new eastern EU members, add in their standing troops, and you’ll end up with more standing EU troops currently stationed at or near a rough Berlin-Warzaw-Bucharest triangle, than there are Russian troops in all of Russia.
In other words, even if some guy out of a techno-thriller novel took control of Russia, ignored the economic realities and turned its guns westward, you’re looking at a completely different manpower balance now, compared to the Cold War where Moscow could draw soldiers from all its satellite states. Most of the eastern european ex-satellites are now EU members.
And this is just looking at the troops near that hypothetical front, disregarding various NATO forces that will arrive after some time, disregarding the British and US forces already stationed on the continent, as well Turkish troops moving on the Caucasus oil fields and so forth.
Just to add to that excellent post, if you also nfactor in Russias demographic problems the situation gets even better for Europe in the coming decades.
Greece is a valid point, even if I suspect that they are not buying just your aircraft, but also some political influence towards US/Turkish relations.
Egypt gets $6bn of military aid from the US which they MUST spend on your products, so their ‘preference of US hardware’ is nothing but sucked from your finger. Guess what, with their own money they have been buying Mirages, MiGs, F-7s, L-59s or K-8s.. Why is that, if they have so deep trust in American services?
An arms race between Dubai and Abu Dhabi is another example that does not suit here very well. One Emir buys everything from US and UK, the other one buys everything that is not from US or UK 😉 Nothing but a d!ck comparison contest between two superrich.. Let us bet that they will but F-35s and Rafales in the future..
India has not bought anything American ever since, except a recent order of six Combat Talons. Wonder what was your point..
On top of that, in none of those mentioned countries you’ll find any meaningful number of American cars, for example. Even less you will find American TVs, home appliances, furniture or other stuff. If I think of that, I realize that I don’t know a single American brand producing these items..
lol, I was going to give you time to think about India…………..now disect the Su-30MKI and count the nationalities. And who do you think designed the Mirage-2000 and the Jaguar cos it sure-as-hell aint Russia.
The amusing thing is that your post proves my point, countries dont by US becouse they get screwed over byt the US, others by from someone else to avoid having what their neighbours have- shows the reality that the arms market is actually pretty open.
Your point seems to be that the Russians don’t have a blue water navy anymore, and personally I think that is a good thing.
Russia having 13 carrier groups and a huge blue water navy would be a complete waste of time and money and serve no purpose whatsoever.
Their current fleet is a little small but then they have had to wait for their electronics and armaments to get to the point where designing stealthy frigates and larger vessels means something because the added electronics and weapons systems don’t make them unstealthy and counter all the work on the hull to reduce its signature in radar and IR frequencies.
Small coastal patrol craft are a good start, with perhaps those mini SS-N-25 missiles they displayed a while back with a range of 40km or so… no threat to NATO or the US, but a real threat to smugglers and illegal fishing.
Gradually as they expand their capabilities they can develop larger vessels or modify existing vessels to various other roles… they have plenty of time.
Actually all ths writing off the Russian navy as a coastal fleet is amusing, a naval magazine I read talks of the Russian threat and it claiming half of the arctic for the purpose of oil drilling and how the UK fleet lacks frigates and destroyers. (It is a British Mag)
My suspicion is that the magazine you are reffering to is Warship’s IFR, unfortunately it is not worth the paper it is written on.
Thank you for that post Sens. Indeed this whole saga is multi-faceted, and contrary to the beliefs of some, we cannot talk in ABSOLUTES.:)
You can not talk at all, as you have displayed time and again you have no idea what you are talking about.
Bad day for democracy
Bad day for women
Bad day for PakistanGood for radicals. I wonder why Alqaeda hasn´t been rooten from this planet so far 😡
Unfortunately, I expected this to happen.
All true, once again an evil and violent ideology has unleashed its hate towards civilisation and resorted to murder.

And so the B-2 gets ever more capable.:diablo:
But altertken speaks of “interdependence” and Sealord speaks of “the international system.” And they are correct.
I am not concerned about defense of Britain per se, but defense of western life and western values. That implies defense of our allies and those who have embraced our quasi-capitalist system: Japan, Australia, Canada, etc. Britian has to do her part like all the others.
The world is shrinking (telecomm and aviation) and cultures are clashing. I would like for the competition to be confined to the markets and universities (ideas and products for a better life), but I don’t trust that all our competitors will agree.
In the meantime we have to make economic choices. Those choices limit future options.
Edit: I just re-read my post and in it I appear to imply that I am British. I am not in fact, but rather part of the wider western group to which I refer.
What very few actually realise is that China is a friend and increasingly a participant in the ‘western’ way of life, it is just not democratic. India is even better, they are both democratic and increasingly western in their value set. In reality there are only two areas outside of the ‘west’ the first is Africa, and thats just a mess. The second however is far more sinister, it is Islam.
Does this apply to the Chinese as well?
Yup. No nation creates defence policy in a vacuum.
The Adm. Levshenko is Udaloy I class and is indeed more for ASW. The other ship (Adm. Chabanenko) is an Udaloy II class multipurpose vessel with the anti-sub REDUT (SSN-14) missiles replaced by anti-ship MOSKITs (SSN-22), it is more an antiship vessel than anti-sub altough it retains significant capabilities in the area too.
When the Moskva joins them in the Mediteranean, the task force will be a well balanced one.
And thats the one.:)
lol Muslims calling others violent, that is the definition of hypocrisy! Islam is the root cause of 90% of the violence in the world.
