Of course the ultimate british carrier modification was HMS Victorious after her 1950-55 reconstruction, the result was what I would regard as the best looking RN warship of the post war era.

The malta desighn was not a copy of the US practice, but rather a continuation of a trend of reducing the amount of armour on british carriers, from the first Illustrious claas ships with decks intended to resist six inch shell fire, through to the Audacious class with less and the Malta with even less, but they were still to carry more armour than their american counterparts.
Its alright having 50 aircraft on deck, but if you get hit by a kamikaze and your entire deck crew gets incinerated you havnt achieved much.

You can only realy compare aegis and sampson, not enough is known about the 052c to make a fair asessment at this stage, despite what some might say.

He seems to be saying that the LCA programme has come along way and achieved alot, but that the aircraft is not yet upto western standards and has a long way to go. Basically nothing we didnt already know.

As so many hace said, that website is absolutley useless, dont believe anything it says. Especially as Meteor hasnt even been test launched it would be a bit difficult to intergrate it with the MKI.

I have just read that Mig has in the last few days made the first flight of the Mig29OVT and that they will be displaying the aircraft at Maks2005, I dont know If this is true but the Mig29OBT (typo?) is listed on the Maks display list. Could this be aimed at India? TVC engines would give Mig a real edge in the MRCA competion and produce a phenominal aircraft. Does anybody know if TVC RD33 has been offered with either of the Mig deals India is involved or potentially involved in?

I have just read that Mig will be showing off and possibly flying the Mig 29OVT, if this happens I hope someone will get some good pictures and info on it, I can imagine it being a phenominal aircraft!!!

Stealth, Bars is not in the same league as the F/A 22s radar, just do some research and you will see what I mean. In fact at the moment, Bars superiority over the Zhuk MS and MSF is doubtfull.

Could the JH7A be fitted with both the low altitude navgation pod mentioned in the JDW article and the laser designator pivtured above on the Q5???
If it could it would make the JH7A a very potent precision strike platform???
