Mmm The fact that Jupiters a gas giant, you’d have more chance trying to walk on water:D
    Phil

I walk on water regularly. It’s all about “Being there”.

On holiday last fortnight ago, a large fireball crossed our resort and exploded…disintigrated…. over the western part of Rhodes (With a final flash that lit up Greece!). 45 seconds later there was a BOOM that shook the Island. A spectacular sight, a long green tail (Indicating copper content?) with blue tinges. It travelled about a quarter to a half of the speed of a shooting star, that is to say it crossed the sky in about 6 seconds, a meteorite takes 2 or 3. Dunno if the boom was sonic from its entry or its final cataclysmic death.
Just a few degrees of entry different and it would have had a different story. Messing about in a tube in Cerne is nothing to worry about in the scheme of things.

And it doesn’t make you wonder about the people that use such generalized, broad statements? Even if it doesn’t touch me personally, I consider nationalist stereotyping quite the letdown and wonder about the person to propagate it.

Generalised statements cover 80% of the topic. They are only “Wrong” to the 20% that are not swept up by the generalisation. If it wasn’t for generalisations, decisions wouldn’t be made. But, when your in the 20% you naturally feel upset and perturbed about it.

I’ve spent a lot of time in USA, South, Mid, East C and West C. I deal regularly with Americans. For a Church going nation, supposed to be love to all etc. the USA is still harbouring intrinsic racism, from both directions. They can’t say it in public but it’s underneath.
They will vote as per code. If more blacks turn out to vote than whites, Obama will win. Generally, the whites won’t vote Obama, especially know he has called Palin a pig with lipstick. And yes, that is exactly what he meant – and his audience knew it.

Unfortunately old shape and chuck1981 it’s true. So much so that this week I decided I don’t want to speak my friend again, becuase the whole thing eas started by that friend. 14 years friendship down the drain, but on the plus side it’s made me come out of my shell and not feel so down. It’s done some good but also some bad.

To make this week crappier, i’ve cut my hand when changing a lightbulb …, fell of a chair, fell of my piano stool, jammed my toe under my piano, walked into a lampost and to top it all lost a friend but it was my choice so the latter one I can’t have a grudge about.

You’re 17 and a pal for 13 years. That is a long time to keep a pal, especially when you are growing up your opinions and tastes change so much. Lucky to find a person who’s tastes etc. change with your own. As you get older, the tastes/opinions/policy of of heads seems to change about every 7-10 years, but at your age it could be yearly.

Your 2nd paragraph cheered me up, it was like a comedy script! Hope your not too injured, physically or otherwise.

Your friends are on here, but text n type are no good sometimes. You need to see the head at school, or another “Trusted” adult.

Easy, Have a population of 1.3 Billion, pick all the good ones you can, and throw billions, the best coaches you can get and four years into training them, got to win more that anybody else just on the averages, though I wouldn’t mind betting that some dodgy things have been happening in the background. Though the Chinese seem to have done what the UK have done, targeted a lot of their resources in the areas where they knew they could win the most medals.

    They had 1.3 billion before.
They picked all the good ones at aged 3 before.
The billions makes the difference, and it has been spread “Accordingly”.
Non-state radio is admitting to the cheating, the reporters may be dead shortly.

Yes, the massive UK lottery money investment seems to have paid off, but we were good at these sports before – we just lacked that final killer winner attitude (IMO).

Anyway, speaking of Olympians, I’m off to Greece now. Monarch, from Gatwick. CU on 5th Sept.

Just get them in the air!
If it looks right, sounds right and performs right……then it is right.
It only becomes a problem if a repro/retro claims to be an original.

What next, distinguish between a genuine Lanc built by AVRO’s at Chaddy/Woodford or the (Vast majority of them) built under licence at Metro Vicks in Trafford Park?

“This is my hammer, I’ve had it 35 years, I’ve replaced 7 shafts and 4 heads…but it is my hammer!”

As for a fibreglass Tiger Moth…..surely there is a starch that is “Safe” to use these days?
The rag skin wasn’t structural, so muslin dipped in greasy chippy gravy would look better than fibreglass.

Hmm, now I’ve seen the picture, that is either a genuine early English treasure or a very elaborate and beautiful souvenir from the “Rings” films.

Well, we can’t mention such things due to the yellow card/red card system on the forum but there is one nation that is cheating rather a lot, with false fireworks, pretty singers, 13 year old athletes, judges with fat wallets etc. How can you win Gold at events that you didn’t even enter last time round, or were utter rubbish?

In preparation for 2012, and in keeping with the spirit of the modern Olympics, I heard Seb Coe has ordered a bundle of brown envelopes and is applying for Lottery funding for the bungs.

Leaving that aside, it is the best “Team GB” result ever, notwithstanding 1908, which probably included all the athletically fit people on the planet at that time.
HM Liz is probably already drawing up the New Years honours list with the Gold winners on it.

    All allegedly of course.
