A work collegue has just bought one of these and his insurance cost him 6 grand! who rates them?

A Turbo-nutter-witch I used to work with had a Skyline. Her insurance was a little over £1,200. At £6k your colleague must be a high risk case, which means he is young and/or many points….which further means that innocents are at risk when he is on the road in one of those monsters. IMHO.
Anecdotally, the silly name of Skyline comes from the Skyline racetrack, in Oz.

As for the Tibet, The fate of any nation lays in the nations own need and urge to pursuit it. If Tibetians don’t want to figth for their rigth to be free or cannot do it, then the history shall doom them to extinct. Its only morale that we can effectively place upon international politics when speaking of nation wide levells. Mengeling of others into the situation would do no good to Tibetians, but only raises them as a pawn for hegemonical clash.

Tibet cannot fight to be free, so you say it’s OK to have them trampled? One could say the same about Finland….she has armed forces which seem deafening by their silence whenever there is a skirmish in the world.

So long as they’re used on regimes I don’t like, it doesn’t matter to me who fires them off. And, I certainly DO have a moral superiority over such places, that’s easy, being a Westerner. However, there will always be objections to weapons being used, no matter how low down the scale the regime being eradicated is. It’s your right to object, it’s my right to wish to launch the attack. And saying something is where it will stop, but they are not the only culprits. And do you know for sure that Russian media is NOT covering events in Tibet? not that I am speaking up for them. I can tell you that Russia Today channel certainly is, there may be others doing it but that is the only Russian channel that I receive. As for B——g about the UK and US doing something about it..I don’t because like a lot of other countries, unless there is anything in it for them..then they won’t. My peers in central Russia certainly know about all world affairs. They were talking about Tibet just this morning. They could be listening to the BBC World Service but I doubt it. Their internet is not restricted either.

No military threat to UK, possibly. But it is our duty, along with the US to rid the world of pests for the common good of its own people and the world in general. The pests being the regime, NOT the people.

Except that militarily Doing same for China than was done to Iraq and Serbia is pure imposibility. I presume that you are not that aware of chinese military capacity, so I can forgive it.
But even if we ignore the huge retaliation capapilities that China has, and how effectly such action would mess the entire asia up (not to mention the thuosand of innocent civilian victims!!) ,The overal capacity of PLA would mean that such bomb trucks will become suicide trucks. It would teach lessons, but unfortuanetly to the west, and I bet that it would be lesson that west isent keen on taking:rolleyes:

I am involved in the selling of arms and other military equipment.
I stated a real enemy.
I stated NOT doing the same as Iraq and Serbia. By that I mean real shock and awe and then leaving them to it. The military capability of China can and must be eradicated. If there are civvy casualties then so be it, unfortunately that is the nature of attacking military establishments. We do our best to avoid civvy casualties, it does no good in the effort to raze the military installations and wastes a bomb worth about £250,000 each.

I see that the French are getting twitchy over the Olympics, is this going to extend to other countries, are we going to have a last minute boycott as what happened in the USSR and USA in the 80’s. Personally, I think not, China is too great a player in the economic world, you might not be able to obtain your latest Corgi models otherwise.
How did the world see us beating hell out of the Catholics in Northern Ireland, same difference, whatever your point of view, suppress the minority by force.

A few hundred Bomb Trucks for a few months will have to do the trick. We have some new weaponry that needs full battle test too. Stuff public opinion, they were wrong when we got shut of Saddo.
After the bomb trucks have softened the ground a bit, and left their military with no comms or air bases/force or Navy……we should then walk away, lessons taught to what’s left of the regime. Based on lessons learnt from mismanaging the peace.

I’d sooner the flight crew were able to concentrate on flying the plane behind a locked and secured door than looking for the opportunity to take out an arab looking person. Guns don’t belong in the hands of intelligent people, especially those entrusted with the lives of the general public over a period of hours.

Any so called ‘captain’ that feels so insecure in his occupation as to feel the need to mimic Clint Eastwood in airline garb, needs a reality check. What would happen if said ‘arab person’ was able to incapacitate the flight crew, and remove the weapon for his own benefit…?

Frankly it’s an gross insult to the hard working airport security staff, who do their upmost to stop these kind of things getting on planes !

Guns, if the bad guys have them, we need bigger ones.
I’ve been on trains in Egypt where the plain clothes guard had an Uzi tucked in a holster under his jacket. I have no problem with that. The only problem was that as a tourist we were forced to use that train, in that carriage….we wanted to go 3rd class.
Plenty of Air Marshalls around these days, all armed. What if the bad guy were to overcome them? Some of the Air marshalls I’ve seen look a bit too fat to be ensuring my safety.
This is one incident out of a million. There are far more things to worry about on a flight than a pilot with a gun. No A/c has been brought down by a discharging pistol. Plenty of A/c have been brought down by shoddy maintainence, incorrect fuel calculations, bad weather planning etc. etc.
Airport security staff can be bought, just like the people putting the food on, or cleaners. For a hijacker, getting the firearm on board is not his biggest problem or concern.
