The Scots were probably duped into convicting him. It’s that American intelligence oxymoron again.
By the way, all justice is vengeance. The Western version is drawn from 10 rules scratched in stone that somebody allegedly carried up some hill in a story from a long time ago.

Sat at the beach cafe looking at all the sun bathers, relaxing, mostly asleep or lost in a book.
From nowhere, a 2 foot wave hit the beach and washed all the way up to the Sea Wall………towels, papers, books, tents and of course people were all over the shop in shock. We in dry land found it all very amusing. We later went down onto the beach and enjoyed a dry afternoon. Apart from the swim.

Hear Hear.
I may just pop over.
No way is that real, you would have to be a complete retard to even attempt something like that. The speed seems improbable too.
Got this last week and have studied it dozens of times. It’s damn good. We (At work) reckon the projectile is a crash test dummy (Weight and movements reflect a human). The real bloke was already in the pool. A real bloke would break a lot of bones landing in 2foot6 of water at that speed.
We considered that the whole flying sequence was added, but the splash looks too good, and something quite heavy made the splash.
However, I have never seen a crash test dummy adopt the “Bomb” position just before impact!!!!
If it’s real, the test runs must have been pretty conclusive, he only had to fall short by 1 metre and the wooden deck would have spliced him like a Kipper!
Edit. Is that the rehearsal dummy lying in front of the ski-jump?

Well said Tangmere.
Ronnie Biggs is not in the same league and should have been released a long time ago. He just upset the system by nicking Post Office stuff. He didn’t kill the driver.Anyway, another side of the original coin. Libya has since denounced terrorism and 4 years ago I met #1 son and briefly saw the Colonel walking through the grounds.
For the 22 years Libya had been rightly cut off from Western “Stuff”. They have basically saved all the oil money and maintained old Soviet stuff in the Army / Air force.
Libya is now spending rather a lot on Western defence “Stuff”. The contract I was playing with was worth £82m for Batch 1. Total of 40 batches required.
Then he wanted to re-equip the older stuff. Another £4.86Bn. They are also spending a lot on non-defence stuff too.
This is in addition to the fact that within months of the Lockerbie, a certain British Defence contractor (A big one) was planning/plotting with Libya in readiness for the ban to be lifted. Today’s enemies are tomorrows cash-cows.
Further, there is a lot of stunning Mediterranean coast which they intend to develop for tourism.
The US is using a certain Airbase there, it is a new Arab Aircraft Carrier.
What I am saying is that money has no flag and will always win.

Over our dead bodies mate. There has been an airport at Sandown since 1928 AND IT IS GOING TO STAY THERE. If Messrs Barratts, or any other developer for that matter, want to build on the Isle of Wight then may I suggest they do an aerial survey in May / June and look for all those Oil Seed Rape fields that are going to waste and simply looking for some good use.
Why this very dim mentality to build on airstrips? Soon be an outcry if someone decided to build on all the football pitches or cricket grounds. Second thought – what a good idea.
So next time you are ‘down south’, give Isle of Wight / Sandown a call and drop in (well not litterally) for a chat, wad and cuppa. It is still there – very much so.
LONG LIVE SANDOWN.
Whilst I totally support your standpoint, and I will join the campaign when it starts……but the present owner will sell it. (This was his plan before the slump). At that time he wouldn’t even pay a few quid to rescue the Merlin engine (By rescue I mean dump it in a vat of derv oil to prevent even more damage). He had no plans to re-open the Cafe either.
He may have changed his mind in the past 12 months.
Nice set.
Most of this lot flew along the Solent on their way. Too far for me to grab a shot though.
No true ratio can be adhered to. The Wing is designed to get the most lift from a given aerodynamic surface area, with modern designs such as A380, the wing shape is so complex and “Perfect” that the span is kept short (Airport limitations drove the dimensions anyway). If the A380 was designed in the 60’s, it’s span would be massively larger. The Gull shape also assists in getting the lumps clear of runway debris. As for Fin and tailplane, these depend on their distance from the turning moment. A long thin tube such as a DC8-62 can get away with relatively tiny empenage aerofoils, because being so far back they have a bigger affect on the movement of the craft. Again referring to the A380, it’s fin is massive because the fuse is proportionally short so it has to direct a lot of air to get enough force to move the machine about.
As for Chord ratios, as much as 20:1 at the outboard end of a wing. The inboard can be as little as 4:1.
As stated, once Supersonic is in the sums, a whole new set of physics comes into play.
Go to Sandown before it’s gone forever. Within a few years it will be a Barratts estate (Present economic conditions allowing). From Sandown you can walk to Sandown itself, a bustling holiday town. At Bembridge, the town is pretty, the harbour is pretty but not much to do other than look around at wealthy peoples houses.
Moggy, swim in the Solent? Not when the tide is moving you don’t – it’s as fast as a River. Most people caught in the tide, die. Swims across (For Charity etc.) are highly supervised.
And also for Date sandwiches. Brown bread, butter and dates. Nothing else.
Granny Bumble’s approach of eating a little of what you fancy is always good advice, although with mass produced factory food that should probably be tiny amounts.
This will be tried when the dates get back in the shop. Proper dates, not the force grown Tunisian/Spanish ones (They are still nice, but not as good as Arabian).
I’m surprised I haven’t thought of it myself, I’ve done a Fig butty.
Oh, by the way. My Garden Fig tree has actually produced some decent ones this year. They are about 2 inch diameter…..but how do I know when they are ripe? There are so few of them on the tree, the practice of sacrificial tests cannot be used.
