Halifax, Stirling, Whitley, basically any of the lesser-known workhorses of bomber command. They and their crews can never have enough recognition.
(short of a Branson-type buying it and operating it out of the goodness of his heart)?
If only…

Surely the opening ceremony is partially about showing off the history and heritage of the hosting country too? In which case the Vulcan has a place as a reminder of when this country could actually build cutting edge (for the time) aircraft ‘in-house’? As Joey suggests I reckon that to most Joe Q. Public its just a big, noisy, powerful beast of a machine, rather than a nuclear weapon…
Attempting to post my humble efforts, Duxford Sept ’08
Had a Hunter one plus some instruments, gave them to Fort Paull to go in ‘509 when they rescued it after the Hull chavs ransacked it while it was outside Humbrol. They were only gathering dust at mine and should hopefully prove useful to 509, still sometimes kinda wish I’d kept them though…:(
Which is worse- bus or boat?!
Just caught up with your thread, looks like you’re doing good works down there at Brunty! Hope I can get down for a nosey this year 🙂
Nice shots.
