It really is ridiculous. Take the A1079, the main (and very busy) road between York and Hull, neither of which is exactly a small hamlet I’m sure you’ll agree. There’s a section near what was RAF Pocklington which HAS to be negotiated at no more than walking pace it’s that bad. And even then I’m thankful I have no fillings, as negotiating the bomb craters even at sloth-speed would definitely shake them out!
The roads round Bridlington are just as bad. It really is Crater Town (some would say that’s an improvement for Brid though!). There are potholes there I’m sure would actually eat anything smaller than a Land Rover trying to negotiate them!
That said, I did see a particularly irritating chav remove his ridiculous drainpipe exhaust in a minature replica of the Grand Canyon the other day, so perhaps the cloud has a silver lining…
