So did you manage to get all those retained nuts out after I left? Good work if so.

yep they’re all out, as is that less than nice piece of pipe which will be replaced by a blank. Also added drain holes to the exhaust panel. The entire job only cost the lives of 2 of Mal’s Nimrod team drill bits too!

He was great and will be missed. RIP Pete.

02/01/2011 Update

Yep today’s was a tale of success, after a welcome bearded visitor from the North graced us with his presence too! 🙂

The Artouste MAY finally be in a position to re-fit next weekend if I do some serious overtime on Saturday, but far more likely it’ll be going in the weekend after. We will have her running before January’s out though.

Further to NM’s post, we are looking to compile a calendar of anti-det runs planning ahead for at least the next six months. As soon as this is done I’ll post it on here.

A second T2, now that’d be nice. I believe that’s the long term plan. For those concerned about the ‘puddle jumpers’ 😀 we have re-fitted the stress panels temporarily so the jet can be moved. It also means the Victor looks a bit tidier until the weather allows work to continue.I think the plan is to move the little uns indoors this week. Yesterday we defrosted and fired up the Houchin and ran some of 231’s electrical systems, just to make sure all was well. So despite some recent troubles and setbacks, if the weather plays ball hopefully January will see 231 reunited with her Artouste and live again… 🙂
