I was parked on the sports field, pretty close to the rugby goal, so the car was really easy to find again! 😀
Sounds like for once I picked the right day to go then. I really cannot fault yesterday’s display, best I’ve been to in years 🙂
We are working our little backsides off to have her ready, to the extent of even turning up on a Sunday before the clock says PM! 😉
…so just what are you looking to change the oil in the Houchin into then…?! :diablo:
Sure you’ll have the Maid right for then, promises to be a good weekend. Possibly even with one whole can of Shandy Bass being passed around if someone feels like pushing the boat out! 😀
Facebook? 🙂
Bloody pikeys!! 😉 so where’s your nimrod update thread anyway? To prove you actually do something other than drink coffee and thieve our Houchin when you turn up! Love that signature line by the way NM 🙂
Very nice pics of what I thought was the best airshow in our patch since Finningley’s last show 🙂
Ben’s not far off the mark! No worries mate, when you can make it and need a lift just let me know. If it’s next week I’m looking to be there for 10…
Not without a Lottery win!
Very nice yellerbelly 🙂
Very nice benyboy. Good work mate!
4/7/10
Again not a spectacular amount to report today. Myself, Rich and our new tame ex-Victor crew chief had a couple of dry runs at fitting the RAT and chipper, we know what we need to do so next week it’ll hopefully be back in, done and dusted. Part of the fun was gathering all the bits and pieces, nuts and bolts etc. back together, always a problem when trying to put back together something someone else has dismantled.
Ollie was among us, no posing to be done this week apparently :p but when things involving getting paws dirty were mentioned he disappeared off mumbling about elastitrickery. Again… 😀
Jon appeared just in time to get his overalls on before lunch, so it looked like he’d been doing a bit (!), and Andre landed in mid-feed. I believe they were attending to electrical snags ‘up front’.
Well they were, after we mounted a sneak raid to get our Houchin back that is. Some disreputable types, who shall not be named but are closely associated with a certain recently-retired maritime patrol aircraft, seemed to have made off with it in our absence….;)
Rich fled early, after recieving an ear-bashing from she-who-must-be-obeyed :diablo:, there was little more I could do so shut up shop and called it a day.
Early start next week, we’ll be continuing prep for Wings and Wheels (31/7-1/8, did I mention that???). Lindy’s getting a full wash and brush up as well as all the other little jobs to attend to apparently…
Vulcan yesterday, Victor today; is it possible to overdose on V-bombers?!
Off to the pub now 🙂
I don’t know if anyone else at Waddington today thought the same, but I was sure the ‘chute popped on the ETPS Hunter before she actually touched down……
I heard people, young ‘uns who I’m sure weren’t even born when ‘558 was pensioned off, saying she was the highlight of the show today; I’m sure benyboy will back that up having heard the same sort of thing.
That aircraft just has a certain something.
I don’t know if any of the guys who’ve been working so damn hard to get her to Waddington ever get to visit this forum, but if so I’ve only one thing to say.
Thank you.
😀
Lovely! 😀
Off to throw spanners at her tomorrow again 😮
VULCAN! 😀 excellent day at Waddington 🙂
