Yes the Vulcan at Abingdon was always very popular as a ‘brolly’ during airshows – one of the few areas where the Vulcan outperformed the Victor :diablo:
Fortunately at 6ft tall I can hide under about the front half of the Victor’s wing without stooping. You do have a problem as runs of water come down the slope of the lower edge of the wing though, dripping as they go. We did have a laugh as one of these runs headed, laser-like, for the owner’s good shoes (He’d left them under the wing and put workboots on, and was in the cockpit unawares). just as the trail of rainwater reached them, willed on by us, one spoilsport (Jon) moved the shoes to safety  we swore at him!

Nice work, I know yesterday you said it was hard work, didn’t realise just how hard though! Best of luck with the rest of it. If I can I’ll come give you a hand sometime…
…whereas we bravely ran away from the Victor’s upper surfaces in the heavy rain! 🙂

Oi!! And where you working on the same aircraft as me? I’m sure the chipper is still sat on the floor of the back hatch.
Doh! Sorry was rushing and concentrating on getting to the pub when scribing my post! Duly amended to ducting, which is what I meant in the first place, now practising my best sheepish look 😮
….Must’ve been your revelations about your eating habits that threw me!;)
Ha no not me for once, someone else who shall remain nameless lost 2 of the screws for the side pieces for the RAT scoop…
^^^^:(
Rain stopped play at YAM. Grrr.

Busy (ish) day today, cheers Rich for remembering the magic spray! 🙂
The RAT scoop’s bolted up finally, and the chipper is back in its home. Electrical problem is still being a pain, but I’ll let Steve do the technical bit.
Meanwhile some pics from today:
The Nimrod, waiting patiently for her turn.
One of the engine top covers off for the first time in gawd knows how long.
Steve working on the scoop (In between Pie Sandwiches!)
Voila! Un Scoop.
Ducting in!
Oh look, rain. Shock and indeed horror.
Nose to nose.
Tail. (Doh!)
There are two dead certs when working on 231 I’ve found;
1. A fastener/screw/bolt will ALWAYS go walkies.
2. No matter what time we finish and set off home I will ALWAYS have to sit and wait at the level crossing in Beverley. Every bl**dy time so far.
Steve (Sven) will be along presently with the more technical update. After his Pie Sarnie that is… 😀
…clearly you’ve done this before! 😉
Watching a fairly well equiped womens volley ball team pitch up on Porthcawl beach..
Must add the swearing was uttered in a joyful manner, feck, girrrls, feck…
…Drip tray for Pagen…! 😉

…African or European?! 😀
…Guessing that’s Mrs. BSG not exhibiting a startlingly high grey cell count? 🙁
