Faceless, devoid of personality, slightly portly, but still rather quick.

    Yeah, gotta be Mansell. 😉

    Nope , 6″1 , 14st weight and 33 years old . Brown hair . Nutter.

Good luck with the Home Office – they can be utter sods. One of my mates married a Canadian girl – lots of problems with immigration – same with another mate’s dad who married a Greek/American woman.

Al, is your mate having to send money home to her folks? I saw something on TV where that was part of the deal – sounds like rent-a-wife to me.

Yup , your right Rob , he has to send £120 a month to keep the family Mango Farm in business.

Did he check for additional parts?

Sick story time , I did work in the Semiconductor industry for 10 yrs , there were squads sent out to Japan 20 at a time for training . The lads used to go to these hostess bars where they sit and feed you peanuts and top up your drinks etc . One chap ( who will remain nameless ) pulled the hostess one night and they went back to the hotel – after loads of foreplay Tam slipped the hand and nearly fainted when he found a male appendage !!!! , next morning at breakfast Tam was telling all and sundry about his night, until , somebody said ” what did you do next Tam ” , Tam said ” hey , I paid for the goods so I just rolled him over and done him anyway ” 😮 . Sound of much vomiting in the background.

I appreciate the input. Jim loves to show his airplanes to anyone. If someone calls to come for a tour, he will drop everything and take them around the hangars and tell the history of each aircraft. If he is not around, I usually take time out of my day to help. So if you are in Montana come up for a personal tour. Come at the right time, and you might get to go for a ride in a warbird or a helicoptor ride to see the area. Ask Mark 12, he got to see Glacier Park from a Cessna A37 Dragonfly. I dont fly the big Iron, but the T-34 or bonanza are fun also [that is when the Faa decides the T-34s are airworthy]. Anyway people like you are appreciated.

Shouldn’t say things like that Mike – you may end up with Setter and I knocking on your front door !! 😀

Any chance you could post some photos for us ?? 🙂 ( everybody who doesn’t like shiny ‘planes look away now ) :dev2:

There is no way you can please everyone. A few months ago I posted a couple of pictures of the seafire lined up with a few of our other warbirds and most of the posts did nothing but pick the other aircraft apart because they werent what they wanted to see [clear coat on the P-51 and corsair, the eye was wrong on the P-40]. I thought I would get a better response than that. I try to keep these birds looking as good as I can for vistors who come. It is kind of discouraging when you get responses like that, but you cant please everyone I have come to learn.
    Mike

Mike , you have a beautiful set of toys up there , without you and a few others I would never see a warbird – I live in Scotland – which is a warbird free zone . I appreciate your input to this Forum , if painting aircraft with gloss paint make it easier to clean them by all means do it . I just think that people should realise that you DONT have to let us see your toys , you could shut the hangar door , then no one sees them . Paint them as you please , if you need help polishing them just mail me 😉 😉

29 posts and still nothing from Al George…. he’s probably totting them all up… 😉

Heres the first one , while my wife was pregnant with our second child we started getting abusive phonecalls.I was working nightshift and invariably the calls through the night were downright disgusting. All of our neighbours were very supportive – as Jennie was pregnant and this was really affecting her , she couldn’t sleep and ended up going back to her mums at night time . The police and BT managed to trace the calls – they came from a neighbours house !!!! , one of the goody goody helpers was reponsible . I got a hammer from my toolbox and chapped his back door , door was open and I walked in and made him tell his wife what he had been doing – I even gave her a tape of the phone calls . We stepped outside and he is twice my size , I thought – I better make the first one count or he is going to give me a pasting , so I broke his jaw ( in several places ) and left cheekbone with my hammer .
No witnesses , no statement – no charges . Would I change anything ???? , yup , I should have done his ankles too . Ba$tard.

At least the wings come off this one so it can be stored and transported easily. It’s certainly an important consideration if you choose to own one of these little ‘planes.

Good point Robbo , and they are very helpful too – the wings even fail mid-air just to get you down on the ground very quickly thus saving you fuel – look through some of the FAA Accident Investigations – quite a few WAR replicas in there .

Eek… 😮 …and there was I thinking it wasn’t that bad a wage…more than I’m getting and you get to play with the aircraft!

    Anne

It’s not a bad wage for someone who has experience and is getting on in years – an ex-serviceman perhaps ? . But I honestly think that someone taking on that level of responsiblity should be on a bit more of a salary than that .

I don’t know may people who would work for that salary – probably suit a retired service engineer . .

Interesting to see the Soko 522 wrecks in the very last pic wearing Luftwaffe/RAAF markings!Any idea what the markings were applied for?

Have a look for an obscure film called ” Battle on the River Neretva ” and you’ll see plenty of them , I thought they were T6’s , the dialogue is crap but the flying scenes are excellent.

Think I’ll just add a couple more of the Haystack at Newark. These were taken a few weeks back.

Considering the ‘frame has been outside for yonks, it’s in fairly good static condition. Never fly again of course, nor turn an engine, but it’s a tad more accessible than the one at Dux.

Cracking photos Les , any more ?? 🙂 🙂 , she looks in great condition .
