That’s a good point Moggy , I’ve also noticed that there are a lot of flying schools which are offering very good deals on PPL’s at present . Like you say the only real benefit of an NPPL is if you have a medical problem , or if you have a Microlight Licence and want to switch to SEP , I initially did a lot of hours on both weightshift and three-axis Micro’s , and again as I can count 15 hours in three-axis Micro’s towards the PPL it makes the NPPL pointless .
Good financial thinking , I’m going to demand more pocket money from the wife , or I’ll start smoking !!!!

Just imagine a world full of aviation enthusiasts !!!! Helpppppppppp

Nuts and bolts !! , mine is just nuts !! , luckily I have two wee kids ,Jamie is 6 and John who is 2 , if I want to go see something or buy something I give it the old “it’s for the kids ” or ” the kids want to go there “
Why do we get so fanatical about aeroplanes ?? , I suspect crack cocaine is cheaper , less addictive and less harmful to your body than aviation !!!

Bloody hell that is a good price , it’s really a holiday and your PPL in one package !!! .
I like the idea of the Normandy flights that would be interesting , I wonder if there are any flights over Ypres ,Passchaendale ( my spelling is sh1t ) and other WW1 sites , I’ve seen some of them but I wonder if you can see more of the actual trenchlines from the air ???.
Re homebuilding , have a look at Bud Evan’s website , Evansair , VP-1 the Volksplane , Volkswagen engine , easy construction , can be done in a small workshop , the plans are $55 a set and once you get reading them you’ll be bitten by the bug , keeps me out of the pub , keeps the wife happy !!

Word is though that soon the French, Germans etc will approve the NPPL as long as the pilots stick to the NPPL flight rules when in European airspace , I think it’s only a matter of time . Start a home-build aeroplane ( have a look on the Evansair website ) , by the time you have finished it the NPPL will be approved in Europe !!!!!!!!!
