These are the sensible ones 😮 😮 My god, you live life dangerously 😉 Anna 😀 😀

Trust me , these are minor hiccups . I have had no stitches on any part of my body for 7 months now – that is a record for me. :diablo:

Got shot and stabbed in the same leg in the same month – just a lark around that went went wrong .

Got into my friends new Porsche ( 3 days old ) and I was so drunk I never realised he was drunk , trying to see how fast it would go and a tyre blew , fractured skull , cracked sternum – other minor repairs needed .

Got my left hand caught in a garden rotovator , cracked and dislocated thumb – most of the soft tissue on the back of my hand got a bit chewed up – basically nearly all healed now .

These are the sensible ones , I will post more after somebody else has a go .

Good eye. Rapide B, Serial #1450. My mechanic Blaine Laux restored it about 10 years ago. Behind it is a 1929 Henderson Excelsior, a 1934 Harley VLD, and a 1945 Harley 45WL.

Hmmmm HRD Vincents , nice engine , nice sound – the first real superbike .
Lightning fast ( apart from the single cylinder Comet – it sucks ).
Ever seen the fully cowled one – the Black Prince , way ahead of its time .

An interesting way to attempt to counterweigh the U.S. Following the dreadful result of the Presidential election there this is now a more urgent need than ever.

Yes, but when the great man himself appeared to defend his memories – complete with threats that we ourselves should dig deeper and prove him right (or something) – then it got heated. In the end the thread was pulled – he wouldn’t answer any questions except to say that we should be demanding answers of the MOD/AHB, not him. Presumably because they were the ones lying…

Ken Williams Emailed be a while back with an update on his yarn – I think I mailed it to the Mogster ( if I did , any chance of sticking it on here Mog – I deleted mine ) , hmmmmmmm

This is starting to sound like Kenjomo and friends…”Believe everything I say but question nothing or I shall see you in court!” Long live Douglas Bader and his Liverpudlian PoW holiday!!!;)
Will those who have upset Ashtonvillagecommunitycentre also get named and ‘shamed’ on his website?

    Seasons greetings,

    Flood

Hey Flood , the Bader story WAS true , wasn’t it ??? 🙂

I shall do, I have to admit I have never been that fond of Austers but at least parts are relatively cheap and even the old Gypsy is cheaper than a Warner! Jodel sounds interesting too, they can be great fun. The larger ones have stonking performance.

Of course, if you had found a cub . . .

    (Much prefer them)

    Melv

As you will see in the photos , there is one singed fuselage frame , one complete fuselage , the wings are stacked against the back wall and the two Gipsys are palleted . Loads of other spares too.

    Hi Melv
I understand that A*r*pl*ne M*nthly will be publishing a full cost analysis of your Rearwin restoration next month.
After all, those little sixpences all add up, don’t you agree.

I imagine you must be quite popular in Naval circles by now.
    All the best
    Andy 🙂 🙂 😉 😉 🙂 🙂

Is there any truth in the rumour that Ae**pla*e M*nth*y is being renamed “Melvyn Hiscock Monthly ” to commemorate the fact that he writes half of the bleeding thing. 🙂

Thanks SB , I had heard the story that some of the cargo dogs were sunk in shallower water than intended .
Like you say- the info available is very scarce – have you found much info regarding the scuttled ships ??

A lot of the chemical stuff was loaded on to unwanted freighters after the war , these were then scuttled in an area known as Beauforts Dyke off the south west coast of Scotland – west of the Solway Firth , there were loads of incendiaries disposed of in this way too. Recently these have been people injured by handling phosphorous bombs which have washed up on beaches on the Solway Firth , they suspect that the ships are now breaking up and the strong tidal currents are washing stuff ashore – there was a story not so long ago about Mustard Gas being washed up .
