I have my answer, thanks Al. To be honest I only asked as I was under the impression BA were keeping all the engines safely stowed away at LHR.

I think most of use were under the same impression – so it was a bit of a downer to find they only have 1 engine for her , also no carpets , no seats ……………… 🙁

Great day out , great bunch of lads , well done to Keith for his “technical talks” – however I got the impression ( dont know why ) that he may dislike Phantoms ever so slightly.

Anybody interested in hiring a minibus and heading down to see Just Jane or one of the Old Warden dusk airshow and take in a museum too .

Great pics, are the Olympus engines going to be reinstated for displaying or left out as displays of their own ?

Ren , what you mean is ” are they going to leave out the only Olympus engine which came with the big jigsaw kit ”

Daz, haven’t got a Spitfire T-shirt but I will see if I can find one with an aeronautical theme to suit the occasion! Hold on, I’ve got a Spitfire cap, will that do to recognise me?

As for real names, I’ll have to explain to you guys how to pronounce mine first, otherwise we’ll still get strange looks! 😀

I was going to ask that – how do you pronounce Jelle ?? , is it like Jelly ? , on second thoughts can we just call you Archer ??:)

Would anybody be interested in making this a 6 monthly event – even with a view to running a minibus to Duxford/Old Warden or something similar – there seems to be very few aviation enthusiasts up here – why not take names and organise something on a semi-informal basis ???

[Alastair the shed you are talking about that has the jodel in it is just 1 or 2 hundred yards from where we fly our models.

Scott , do you know if she is still in there ?? , last time I looked her she was in a shambles – the owner was an opthalmic surgeon who worked in one of the Edinburgh hospitals – last time I heard he had moved elsewhere and G-BOJO was left to moulder – I’ve just been told the Turbulent is still in the area too.

I have recently spotted a very dilapidated Auster in a farm yard very close to EF too .

If everyone wants to go elsewhere, or accept your hospitality, that’s fine with me. I just thought it would give more time looknig at aircraft if we were eating at East Fortune. I leave the choice to the masses!

Good thinking Ian , I’m still thinking the place was shut . The rolls are great and their soup is excellent too.:)

What are we doing for lunch ?? , I’m a member of the Glen Golf Club , but I think I can only get 4 into the clubhouse – alternatively if we all bring a packed lunch we can eat over at our caravan at North Berwick – and the non-drivers can have a beer or two 😀 😀
