Got It !! , bargain .:)
Are there any Glaswegians who could offer transport to a chap from Cardonald ????
Even if we have a couple of hours at the Museum we could have a spot of lunch then wander over to East of Scotland Microlights – Daz and I have already booked flights ( still waiting for a confirmation from Gordon ) , if anybody wanted a trial flight I’m sure Gordon will accommodate us ?? , any other ideas anybody ??
Shall we set a time ??? , 10AM ??? , lunch in the excellent wee Tea Room ??.
I’ve been in contact the owner of the manual by E-mail and this is the genuine article , it was given by the engineer to the current owner on the proviso that it was ” to help in your aviation career in whatever way it can ” , any money raised by the sale is going towards the rebuild of an aeroplane in the UK .
Der , I could pick you and Daz up on the way through – only thing is , Daz and I have booked a large portion of stupidity for that particular Saturday and you are coming along too 😀 . Daz check your Email !.
Is XA853 still extant ?? , did she pass through the Marine Salvage yard a couple of years ago ???.
Sat 24th 13:00 sound OK ??
Why not do both days , that way everybody gets the chance to attend , Daz I can pick you up on the way through – you up for some flying ??? , get some time in that logbook of yours !!!! , I will phone Gordon and arrange some formation flying !!!!!:D
Anybody know what the float lying in front of the Lysander is from ???
Definate no , the Speys are licence built in China . The RAF ex-stock Speys are stacked up in the Marine Salvage yard in Portsmouth – none of these will ever fly again.

That’s because it doesn’t have the right implement mounting on the back. 😉Moggy
Nope , I have the same tow hitch on both – only difference is that the Fergies is self levelling , and Saabs don’t come with depth regulating hydraulics 😀 . I tried to drag a tattie howker out of a field last year with the Saab as I was to lazy to go and get a tractor – a definate no go.
The Fergie easily pulls a 9 ton grain trailer at 12-15mph , the Saab won’t , period ( unless you want to buy a new clutch every week .
😉 If you are ever looking for an aircraft tug drop me a mail , I have some Fergies I need homes for , I never let anybody I know scrap a Fergie , I would rather give them away to good homes , all run well but most need paint .

Isn’t that the 7 8ths scale thing that appears at the East Fortune air displays?
Don’t remember the Swordfish at Strathallan being on display.
Yup the Swordfish was there – 1987 the Swordfish , Battle and Bolingbroke were all on the L/H/S of the Hangar undergoing metalwork , I know I got kicked out of college the same year – poor attendance . 😀
Spot the Swordfish wing – bottom right .
