[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-01-03 AT 09:03 PM (GMT)]Saab 2000 i don’t know if this is your attempt at a flamer but i think you may be misguided my friend!! a trip to Northern Cyprus is like takin a trip to N.Korea, both pariah states which depend on eachother for economic and political recognition.
i’m not sure if your up2date with the history of the cyprus problem but its wise to know the facts about visits to the pseudo state!! its recognised by only 2 countries in the world, Turkey and North Korea!!:) , trade between TRNC and the EU was cut off in 1994 and now all exports have to go through mainland Turkey, travel to and from TRNC as you know has to go through Turkey, its economy in ruins because nobody recognises it.
It was declared a state by means of an invasion of the Republic of Cyprus (south Cyprus)by the Turkish army in 1974, with the TRNC declaring independence in 1983, a visit to its shores would be analogous to legally recognising that invasion, an invasion were many many people of both sides of the divide were killed, displaced and massacred by the advancing Turkish army, an invasion not recognised by any international body e.g UN!!!!
A trip to Northern Cyprus (TRNC)would also include a sight seeing tour of the UK’s most wanted criminals, those on the run which have evaded UK justice (not up to much these days!!:) ) the likes of mega drug dealer Gary Robb, fraudster John Doherty, Brian Wright and Asil Nadir.
Although goods and services are cheap in N.Cyprus thats a result of numerous economic collapses and currency devaluations and ultra high inflation!!!
