Well I decided to paint all three of the Hunters in the end as it seemed the right thing to do and a more colourful option, not a great photo (I’m no photographer). As always comments welcome

Well thats all food for thought, I too really like the idea of meteors, however I two hunters already started so I think both the red and yellow will make for an interesting and colourful picture with maybe some meteors in the background, I’ll post a pic when its finished. Might have to make the next painting Meteors though.
thanks for all the help
Cheers and merry xmas

How bizarre I was only asking myself the same question a few days ago just never got round to asking

Hi Melvin
Not heard of him myself but you try contacting the Guild of Aviation Artists, he may have been a member.

Well finally got this one finished, turned out better than I expected time to move on to the long list of other projects, looking at a DH Hornet next or maybe a beaufighter
Thanks for looking

I seem to remember the FAST museum at Farnborogh also have a two seater

Thanks Steve, it is in fact a commission from the crew so now worries there, the air support has been farmed out to the helicopters belonging to two neighbouring counties stretching the resource even further and costing more to run
Just to show I am still working here is the sketch of something I am just getting some paint on, it depicts the now retired Police Air Unit islander which until recently operated from HMS deadalus covering the hampshire area, the other two are the previous aircraft used by the unit, comments are as always welcome
Cheers

Hi Trumper
Have had a few months of but will certainly have something for the guild show and will post as soon as I have something to show. Looks like my kind of summers day you’ve captured there

As has been said here the GAVA is a mine of useful info and help/guidance, there are two other smaller aviation art groups that I know of, The Solent Aviation Art Society and The Manchester Aviation Art Group (I think thats correct) both can be contacted on the web. Copying other paintings is indeed a great way to learn, maybe substituting other aircraft and just using the composition etc
There are also a number of books available this being a very good example

Looks like your sister has talent and made a good start there
If you or your sister have any questions feel free to PM/email me

Hi guys
Bit of a long shot this but I have been tasked with producing some artwork for the Hampshire Police Air Support Unit and need a copy of the Brooklands Aerospace logo carried on the tail of several of the opticas, would any of you have one or be able to point me in the right direction
Grateful for any help
Thanks
