Indian Airliens is starting a DEL-Perth service stopping at Calcutta and Singapore using an A320.

And India wont be opening its domestic market so easily for foreign investments even though its one of the top priorities, so Virgin has to keep knocking for a while.

There are 10 LOCOs in India getting ready to launch operations. Time for 9W and IC to hold on to their seats.

Has to be a 777 or an A310.

So is this suggesting that unions in S.Korea are more powerful than the government? Thats stupid. Even though the people appose the troops movement the national airline should not have the courage to veto such a govt. decision.

I really like Changi. Very Big! And loads of duty free shopping too. Free internet terminals, and a couple of comfortable BIG TV viewing areas and even a cinema upstairs! Can sympathise on the gates there, they are numerous, and when I first went there last year I couldn’t believe how long it took to get mine even with the escalator walk ways. Felt like more than half a kilometre!

I got to see a very different side of the airport last November. On my departure to Tokyo in the morning with SQ12, the check-in system went down and was down for hours! We pretty much all had to be checked in manually, and most flights were delayed as a result. I got to the check-in counter lineup at about 7:30am, and only left there at 9:15am! Our flight had to be moved to another part of the tarmac and away from the gate to make way for incoming flights. So, the whole lot of us, group by group, ended up on an airport bus and were driven to 747-400. We then boarded the old fashioned way! Classic! Didn’t have my camera with me then – BUMMER!

In Tokyo we got an apology letter and a really nice pen as their way of saying sorry which I thought was nice, but by then I just wanted to get to the Hotel and sleep!

SQ is just pure dominance in there service, last time i got ****ed when they served me just boiled chicken and made a compltain i actualy got an apology letter by the chef and he told me to put in whatever i wanted to eat when i travel SQ next, no matter what it is. 🙂

And Setve i always fly SQ so i dont get to goto Qantas terminal.

Great flight report Kabir. I’d love to experience SQ and especially if it were to Oz. Do you go back to Oz soon or are you back in India for a while?

I go back to Oz on 22nd, i was here for a work experience programe.

Changi is a great airport, something or the other is always happening. I go through it very often and have never tired out. Well except once where my wait was 12 hours. 😮 .

And Ren yes i have her autograph and pics…i was with her for 20 minutes, i even asked if she had extra NY tickets and she sweetly said no. :p

    Kabir,

I have seen the sign at the check-in counter saying ‘Max.32kg’, but when I asked the staff they said up to 25kg would be allowed sometimes. Is 32kg the total per-person limit I wonder? Would you have to pay extra if it was that heavy?

Perhaps it would depend on how full the flight was perhaps? I really don’t know.

I am just back from Mel and my baggage weighed around 30 kgs. While going back it might be around 32 and i have done thise before, so i think 32 is the limit because 25 would be too low?
