What everyone has to realised is that beancounters (accountants) effectively run ailrins these days. they’ll spend as little as possible. This inevitably leads to simple paint schemes.
They don’t care if spotters like it or not, and to be frank, why should they. The average pax couldn’t give two hoots about what design the plane is painted in, all they care about is the service.
