I’ve never been lucky enough to experience the 757, but I do think it’s one great aircraft and certainly a very successful one, too.
However, if the 747 is discontinued, Boeing’s days are severely numbered. The A380 is going to be a huge success and Boeing need to have some sort of competition. Since no new double decker is on the cards for Boeing, keeping the 747 would be a great move and to develop the idea even more would make them stronger compared to Airbus.
B747 hardly has any orders at the moment anyway!
