Yes…the normal size containers would not fit in the concorde….. only about 4 come in the A300 i think.
stupid……they should not have been allowed to do so.
the future is bright!

great pic…this a/c main European destination is ZRH.
not bad…not bad at all.
Thanx for that SOC.
Wys even if Concorde is converted into a F they will have to increase the playload…probably open all galley area and connec baggage area with main area….so i guess it MTOW will be higher than present. If they keep everything same…then anyway too…useless.

A oneworld hub at ZRH would attract continental passengers away from Star airlines like Lufthansa and Austrian, so I think BA may be a bit panicky by objecting too much.
agreed there.

Well, according to Airliners.net…
Weights
Operating empty 78,700kg (173,500lb), max takeoff 185,065kg (408,000lb). Max payload 12,700kg (28,000lb).Performance
Max cruising speed at 51,300ft Mach 2.04, or 2179km/h (1176kt), typical supersonic cruise speed Mach 2.02. Range with max payload and reserves at Mach 2.02 cruise and climb speed 6230km (3360nm). Range with max fuel, reserves and 8845kg (19,500lb) payload 6580km (3550nm).Now, frankly, if you were loading 12 tons of freight manually, you’d be as well using a jumbo, loading a pallet, flying it across the pond, unloading the pallet, and it’d probably still arrive well before the Concorde was unloaded…
And if you are only talking about what you could load manually quickly… no one could feasibly afford to (as well as) lease an aircraft, using up 80 odd tons of fuel in the process, just so a package arrived an hour or two earlier… (and the a/c would have to return to base…)
Quite agree that such a type conversion of the Concorde will be useless.
thanx for that 62M 🙂
But Air France seats 110 i think?
Hand thats interesting…anything more on it?
I echo Monsters voice…..JAL and Qantas wont go dow that easy….but then who imagined Swissair would?
I dont know…i have a feeling it will….the concorde seats only about 140 i think……and MOTW is 185070 kg…definately it will depend on cargo but if it is configured for that it should take more weight than that.
