Very interesting points raised Mongu. Liqor should be totally banned on duty-free and in-flight shops. Most people drink in-flight like they are drinking water….this can risk lives of other passengers and specialy will take care of in-flight crew abuse.
Yes, not letting people carry anything little sharp or made of steel is idiotic. My friend was stopped by security because he had a army-knife with him packed in his briefcase….this i find really insane. Plus i think the role of security at the airports has to be activated….they are lots of them standing at the airport doing nothing. Even if they have 1% suspect on anyone they should frisk that person…not stand like dodos doing nothing. The cabin crew of airlines will have to be more stern with passengers. They should not sell anything in-flight that can be used as a weapon…in that case you dont need to show passengers rubber dumies or give them there purchases once the a/c lands.
Another thing is that ground crew working very close to the aircrafts should be kept a harsh eye on. They are the nearest to an a/c and have the best chance of causing damage.
First thing i am against is handing over guns to pilots…since we have reports sometimes of pilots drunk and we should not forget that accident at Kai tak when a chinese airliner ditched into the sea…that was a suicide on part of the pilot.
