Thanx Dutchy…actually that extra big nose there really made it look different. the RRJ(Rusian Regional Jet) being developed by Ilyushin and Sukhoi will look something like that.
In a graphi shown by BBC….after sighting each other they both dipped…unfortunately in the same direction. If one of the would have lifted insted of dipping…it would have been avoided.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-07-02 AT 03:53Â PM (GMT)]Here it was said the TU 154 did not have a TCAS….. while the B757 did….the pilot did try to get out of the way….even if the TU 154 have a TCAS system…god knows when it was last upgraded and even if it matched the FAA’s latest upgrading performence. You know everything works in Russia, they really dont care much, specialy small carriers like these.
This is terrible…..about time airlines stop using TU 154s. The TU 154 was not responding to the ATC….but the DHL B757 had the anti-collision radar on…the B757 hit with the wing on the TU 154. Yes…..worst part….70% killed are kids. This is the second mid-air collision in the history of civil aviation, first being in India between a Air Kazakhstan Yak 40 and a Saudi B747.
