I think you’re right Michael. Still, it’s the best time of the year to do it then it’s in service when they need the extra capacity.

[BREAK_THE_SILENCE] Soo…price of milk….[/BREAK_THE_SILENCE]
Matthew.
It’s £1 for three pints in glass bottles around here. Bargain really as the kids use the empties for petrol bombs. Is that what they mean by recycling?

I have as much right to contribute to the threads as you! If you dont like my opinions, fine, offer a different one but dont tell me I cant post. That isnt up to you to decide.
danairboy.
You are quite correct. It is not up to us. Which is why I’ve reported your posts on this thread to the webmaster and voiced concerns over your continuing lack of any interesting contribution to this forum.
Your attitude is one of total disregard for your fellow forumites, you have, and display, a distinct lack of manners and use virtually every thread you do contribute to as a chance to further your moral crusade against Lo-Cost and no-frills airlines and their lack of proper catering services!
I don’t know and can’t speak for anyone else but, from the tone of other members posts, I imagine we can only listen to your sanctimonious claptrap so many times before it begins to really grate on the nerves.
When someone makes a justifiable criticism of you you fail to respond. Like a naughty child who knows they’ve done wrong but is afraid to admit it. Your arrogance has no limits. You make pronouncements but fail to back them up with facts. You attack airlines, like you did Monarch, and others but offer no alternatives or evidence to support your arguments. And then you have the nerve to attack someone you don’t even know for asking advice. You are rude, inconsiderate and, I have to say, I personally feel you bring the forum into disrepute and are in danger of dragging this forum back into the troubles it experienced a few months ago. Change your attitude or don’t contribute anymore, it’s as simple as that.
If you would care to look at the code of conduct I would suggest you have already broken clauses 1, 6, 9 and 11.

DME, I have some help for you. There is a type of cover cream you can buy over the counter in chemists, its called Dermablend and it will cover tattos without looking silly. A friend of mine has a big port wine stain on her face and uses this cream.
There is nothing girly about using it as it is means for people with burns and injuries or birthmarks. It is recommended by the Red Cross and is used by many men. It will stay put, wont sweat off or wash off with soap. You buy a special cream to remove it.
Hope this is a bit cheaper and less painful for you x
danairboy.
Brilliant! Why can’t all your posts be as helpful and constructive as this one?
Thank you.

i should imagine tatoos are frowned upon by the airlines, although the no-frills probably wont mind!
I hate to see a nice-looking young lad with a tatoo, its awful and I think a lot of the travelling public associate tattos with thuggery. It wouldnt inspire confidence if a flightdeck crew member cam out in shirt sleeves and his arms were covered with tatoo, its not in keeping with the image!
Here we go again. The no-frills probably won’t mind. The arrogance of the man is unbelievable.
As for image, it’s not always what it seems. Would you prefer your airline captain to have a tattoo or a drink problem? That perfectly respectable Russian Captain fitted the image until he decided to let his son play with the controls. And wasn’t there a Captain who decided to commit suicide and take the aircraft and passengers with him? Certainly fitted the image there.

DME.
I understand but there’s no need for him to show that much disrespect to someone he doesn’t even know. Softlad’s response is the type I hoped you would get not some crass sniping when you are just seeking advice. I hope, if it’s necessary, you can have the tattoos removed.
I just despair at the crass ignorance and arrogance of some people who portray themselves as older than they act. Better not mention my wheelchair use or he’ll be calling me a cabbage.
DME, I wish you all the luck in the world.

Do you have a ring through your nose as well? What about an eyebrow piercing?
You arrogant, insulting person. Obviously the stereotypical imagery of a thug works for you then does it?
You know nothing at all about DME who has just asked a perfectly civil question because he wants some advice. You make that comment to him? Talk about disrespectful.
Perhaps you should think yourself lucky that people on this forum aren’t taking a stereotypical view of your homosexuality.
DME deserves an apology from you and would be well within his rights to complain to the webmaster.
DME.
Sadly, I think it is true that tattoo’s may be frowned upon. Perhaps one of the air or cabin crew who frequent the forum could offer guidelines from their employers?
I wish you well.

The Britannia brand was well-known after 40 odd years and had built up a good reputation. It had won many awards for its service over the years. It moved with the times but still stayed true to its origins as a world-class IT carrier.
Now they are closer to the no-frills operators, they have ditched their name and calling themselves ThomsonFly. I wonder how many of its loyal staff were consulted about the name change. No doubts many staff are just as sad as passengers to see the once proud Britannia name dissapear along with their jobs!
Ok, danairboy, make up your mind. I quote ‘It moved with the times’. Yes, it did. The fact that it didn’t move in the direction you’d prefer is the reason for your anger over the current changes.
‘how many of its loyal staff were consulted about the name change.’
Probably the same number who paid for new aircraft, new uniforms, hot meals and other services. It’s nice to keep your employees informed, but you don’t have to. Britannia was just a name, same as BEA, BOAC, Derby Airways etc. The name change is unimportant, the service is what counts and in the current climate of fierce competition companies have to take steps to ensure their survival. That, is exactly what they have done.
