My, my, how nice of you to give the forum a piece of your mind. Hope you remembered to keep just a little bit. I worked in the field of care for a number of years and can clearly see that Flood, Snapper and, indeed, your good self use the forum as a form of ‘Care in the Community.’ That can only be a good thing, as the money you save the NHS can be used as it rightfully should. You know how much executive bathrooms and designer furnished offices cost these days….

And now to your highly intelligent comment about spastics. Clearly, you’ve just left the playground and the extra (?) intellect you gained meant that at least you didn’t use the term ‘Spasser.’
No-one is spastic. This most derogatory of terms used to describe those with the more severe degrees of Cerebral Palsy, or maybe even those with PMLD as you wouldn’t know the difference, has no place in modern society. Let me re-iterate, no-one is spastic. People may have varying degrees of spaticity in their limbs. That’s all.

Perhaps you would care to discuss the implications of the terms such as lunatic, moron, feeble-minded or cretin? How far would you like to go back with this? Or how wide ranging?

I think it might be in Dilip Sarkars re-hashing of Squadron Leader Brian Lane’s book that ‘Grumpy’ did fly QV-H while with the Squadron. What the serial was I haven’t a clue. Incidentally, the Alsatian in the photograph in Ashley’s link was Grumpy’s dog Flash.

Can I just clear a point about my unfortunate ‘escapade’ with a sickbag. When I removed the sick bag because I felt a little queasy, I was ok, until I realised it was half full. I defy anyone who is feeling sick not to throw up when confronted with half a bag of vomit. Needless to say, the cockpit was well and truly redecorated. The wretch who had left the bag in place after using it spent quite some time cleaning the aircraft, while I got a second flight at the end of the afternoon. And yes, I asked for aerobatics again.

Wys, it wasn’t a bacon roll. It was RAF rice pudding. I’m sure we’re all familiar with the stuff, one often sees it used as render on the front of houses as hard core for motorway repairs.

Deano, admirable stance, yet slightly flawed. When I was indulging in a bit of banter with Robert last week your response to my comment was to post an icon which I presume indicated rolling about the floor laughing. Have you ever heard the phrase ‘Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.’?

It is nothing to do with symmetry. It is an out and out error. As the model companies pride themselves on their accuracy it is something of a glaring mistake. Don’t know about the Belgian flag, but incorrect ‘flying’ of a National flag may have some symbolic meaning. For instance, the Union Jack, when flown upside down, is a symbol for help or distress. The differences are subtle but can have great meaning.
