I have tried aerobatics. I hold no aerobatic license (might be because I’m not a pilot 😉 ) I did, however hold , and quite tightly, a sick bag after indulging in one roll too many following lunch. Might have been better if I’d managed to hold on to my lunch.

‘Let’s twist again’ by the inimitable (and let’s face it who’d want to) Pinky and Perky has to be a real serious contender.

One for EAL_KING.
Shame for the employees who have lost their jobs. Sad to say some of them will face very hard times over the coming months.

Has to be Coventry. There are at least two or three movements every…. say every week. The terminal facilities are out of bounds, if you sit in your car in the lane you are occasionally asked to move on. I was asked a few months ago by a VERY intelligent Police Officer what I was doing there. The binoculars, scanner and camera might have given him a clue. I resisted the temptation to ask if he was a detective. He listened to my explanation of what I was doing then spent the next 20 minutes driving up and down the lane glaring at me each time he passed. I thought it only polite to wave each time he passed. This seemed to have the effect of making his face very red. When I left I thanked him for his diligence, telling him that I felt very safe while he was around and that the high visibility patrols he and his colleagues were carrying out would be very effective in ensuring the safety of the airport.
As for favourites? LHR when the Queen’s Building was open was the best of my limited experience. Loved that place. Now it’s of at Hatton Cross and Myrtle Avenue and the visitors centre is a dead loss. BHX isn’t too bad but the outdoor area needs much work. The new car park is great though, right at the end of 33. Currently, MAN has to be the best. Good level surfaces with adequate ramps, good, clean toilets, plain but hot and filling food and a decent shop. Just £3 at weekends and £2 in the week has to represent the best value.

Ahh, tinfoil!!!! That’s where I’ve been going wrong, thought you had to use shrinkwrap to cover all ingress and egress points. Can be a bit of a bother though if you forget when you go to the toilet.
Robbo.
Forgot about the hares. Do you realise what leverets is an acronym of? Had a visitation from a party of badgers last night. They want to step up the resistance and need someone to negotiate between them and Michael (aka Frankie) Howard. I suggested the LibDems but the badgers are obviously a little out of touch. They thought Paddy Ashdown was a centre for the rehabilitation of British wildlife in Eire.
I’m beginning to realise that conspiracy is just another word for confusing. Possibly.
Still, after my appointment with the psychiatrist today
zings vill all look a little clearer, ja?

Didn’t see the programme. But I have read a fair bit about the Guinea Pig Club and Sir Archibald MacIndoe’s incredible team. The thing that has always struck me is their humour in such adversity, and their irreverence towards authority, something which was encouraged by Sir Archibald.
They have an anthem, sung to the tune of the hymn ‘The Church’s One Foundation.’ One verse has always stuck in my mind.
‘We’ve had some mad Australians, some French, some Czechs, some Poles,
We’ve even had some Yankees, God bless their bloomin’ souls,
But as for the Canadians, well that’s a different thing,
They couldn’t stand the accent and built a separate wing.’
If I remember rightly the Canadian wing was paid for by the Canadian Government. A truly wonderful group of people who forged a legacy that continues today.

Ah, the Oxley Oven…. ‘Two corned dog sarnies please, with brown sauce.’ Stepped out to the van to try and sort out the load a bit. Back into the Oven… ‘There you go sir’, as she hands me a carrier bag, full, you’re not kidding about the doorstops.
