I may be wrong but I believe at least one of Atlantic’s DC-6’s is rigged for spraying. I think it may be for dispersal of oil slicks. If, I’m right, wouldn’t alcohol break up the oil? The only other thing i can think of is whether the alcohol is used for some kind of on board de-icing device.

You’ve done it again. Most of your posts, this one included, are very difficult to read. But if we persevere and stay with you the content of what you write sometimes puts us all to shame.

All of us remember that terrible day two years ago, and we each remember it in our own way. Your simple acts of Rememberance do great honour to those who died that day. You took the time out to pay your own tribute and you are to be admired for that. And yes, I think you may be right in saying that it was a mistake for the UK not to hold an official minute’s silence. One minute out of our lives to honour the 2,792 people whose lives ended that day. Not much to expect is it?

As for David Blaine, I feel the only illusion is in expecting people to be riveted to the spot watching him sat in a glass box for 44 days. His own countrymen are dying at roughly the rate of one a day and he fears for his safety? I would be more concerned for his sanity.

If this film happens I think it could be a bit of a win-win situation. If it’s an accurate portrayal of Fiske’s involvement in the Battle of Britain, that will be great. Hopefully the warbird community will benefit from their aircraft being used in the film. If it turns out to be a U571 type drama with much twisting of the truth that’ll be great too. Either way, a lot of kids are going to learn a little bit about the Battle of Britain, unlike a good number who thought it was something to do with an England v Scotland football match. Ok, it takes the U571 route, Cruise will bring a lot of people to see it, and they will at least pick up something from the film. After all, films are often all about suspending our belief.

pick yourself up an Airfix 737-200 and I’m sure some company would have done a set of decals for a Britannia 732. You might get the kit mail order. Try a google search for Kingkit, they have a huge selection. For the decals I’d try somewhere like Hannant’s.
